Looking at probably buying a C-7. My 13 G.S. has awesome paint and basically no orange peel. My CTS 09 great paint no orange peel. Parked next to new CTS (white) crappy paint and orange peel you could see ten feet away. Go Figure Just my 2 cents worth
In my parking area at work there are plenty of Mercedes, Lexus and BMWs and they ALL have similar orange peel to my C7. Seems that it has become the standard and actually more prominent on high end cars.
I personally think it's worse.I have been working an event all summer and have been in probably 100 dealerships and I always walk the lot , and many of those dealerships are Mercedes Benz , BMW Jaguar , etc. yeah it's there on other cars , but not to this degree…I've never seen anything like this on a competitor:
My Laguna Blue has it, but it looks like it is in the panels. None of the 4 C6s I owned had this level of orange peel. I have learned to live with it for now, still going to get a 16 Z06 but likely to order Artic White. I do love the LB and it gets plenty of attention.
Yes, my 2016 LB Stingray coupe has some OP. It isn't any worse than the BMWs I have purchased over the last 10 years. My Audi has the best paint job of any car I've owned in the last 25 years. Absolutely no OP. The OP on my Vette is most noticeable on the side panels.

I doubt its in the panels. They may have some waviness to them, but the OP would be in the finish. When I toured the BG plant in March, I didn't see any that stood out under the fluorescent lighting as having above average OP. While I was on the tour I focused on the paint looking for OP to see if it had improved over the early cars. Maybe the temp/humidity was more ideal the day before when the cars were likely painted.

I agree with you, your is bad, I feel for you my friend.....I will stop talking about mine from now on after seeing yours.
Neither picture is mine, those are just pictures put up here in the last year. Mine was bad on the sides....22 hours labor later, mine is near perfect.
I have yet to see any C7 without orange peel and I have seen many. I get a laugh out of those here that say their car has no orange peel. You can't see it in the dark.

That is really bad.....I'd make GM do something about that.
And just for reference....my black Mercedes had "no" orange peel.
I was going to ask, but you offered it up... Drive an Audi, but here bagging on C7 paint jobs? Got an axe to grind?
My GS has great paint, and my wife's '14 Stingray also has great paint. Hoping next week's builds are good and that my new C7 will also have great paint.
As previously said, get in the driver's seat and you won't think about orange peel.
