Just picked up my 2016 Z51 coupe last week. I noticed there were only 2 rubber flaps under the front spoiler (on each corner) and that the entire center section seems to be missing the flap. Looks odd and I was wondering if this was the norm.
I think they come both ways, I have three, every time I pull out of my driveway it rubs a little, know matter how slow I go angle or straight, that's a pain, thinking of taking the center one off.
I type slow I'm sorry mine is a (15) different beast I guess.

Is your a base or Z51? There is a different configuration between the two.
Leave it there as they do affect cooling and is part of the design and a wear item. Easily replaced and rubber part is not that expensive for a Corvette part. The C6 ones were under $100 for all three pieces.

If it affects cooling then why arent they installed after putting on a front splitter?

Base C7 has the full width(3 piece) air dam to improve aerodynamics(lower the coefficient of drag) by minimizing air flow under the car.
The C7 with the Z51 option has the center piece missing so that air can get to the front brake cooling air deflectors that are mounted on the lower control arms, at the expense of aero.

Or, you could read post #6 here to see the real reason, according to Tadge:
All correct that Z51 only has side dams. I removed them because I got tired of them scraping on my driveway, and I really didn't like the look of them just kind of hanging there. If I ever wanted to track the car I suppose I could put them back on, but at public road speeds they really don't do anything. Some like them as 'early warning' to prevent radiator supports hitting, but I've never had a problem with that. If I did, I'd just put some of the 'fangs' (covers that are sold thru forum vendors) over the supports. But...........to each their own!
