I just went through the same delemma going to my 30th class reunion in Delaware. It was either my girlfriends 2015 VW GTI or my new stingray. We ended up taking the vett as I wanted to get the break in miles done. Saturday before the reunion we hit a local car show in Middletown Delaware where we were staying with one of my best friends, when pulling into the show I was ushered into the show parking as the organize saw me pull in and said there was no way he was going to let such a pretty vett sit in general parking. So we became part of the show and met lots of great people. Later that evening we went to the reunion and the vett got the same amount of attention as almost everyone at one point went out of the hotel where the reunion was held and took a look at her....moral of story; take the corvette.
I would go in the stealth mode. Rent a Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel from Rent-A-Wreck and wear some old clothes. Find out what your former classmates think is important.
Take the Vette. Have your fun. You earned it - you deserve it. Besides, there are probably a few others in your class who are enjoying the same level of success.
Went to mine 2 years ago and of course I drove my Vette. All 1380 miles to get there. To show off.... really ? Maybe a little and with my cute new wife too.
