Yep - they installed a black-on-black suede shifter&boot in my '16 coupe, even though my 3LT Jet Black interior clearly has SILVER stitching everywhere else.
I was told definitively by Gene Culley that you couldn't get these parts with ANY contrasting stitching, but apparently that does not apply if you order the new RED or YELLOW stitching option.
At least the factory will accommodate those that pay extra for such things, as you did Kevin.

Really glad everything is in red stitch for the color contrast option. I did pay extra for it after all.
I'm pretty sure when I've seen the 3lt with red interior it has always had the red stitching in the shifter. Maybe the shifter only comes in red, yellow or black stitch? I feel like I've seen it in grey also though but I could have just never noticed it's black. It seems really odd they don't match it to the seats on every car.

Man, that sucks. I'm surprised that Corvette wouldn't ensure consistency on the stitch color. You should haven't have to pay extra to have the color match if it is a default color. I can now see why you don't like the suede if it meant not having matching contrasting thread! I wouldn't either.
I may have told you quite a while ago GM didn't have any contrasting stitching with suede. They now have contrasting stitching with suede and leather. I'm not 100% done with the shift boot listing on our website, but all of the available shift ***** should be listed in the shift **** listing on our site.
For me it was the 3LT with the suede on the pillars n visors. The main reason was the red on the dash. with Two Toned (Red & Blk) seats the red on the dash makes the interior, they used a different grade of leather on the 3LT vs the 2LT and another reason was the Air Conditioned seats vs the Vented seats in the 2LT.
If you order a transparent top and a 3LT with suede seat inserts what is the trim on the interior of the transparent top. Is it suede or plastic? Thanks for your knowledge.

I have a 3LT with the both visible CF OEM top and glass top and the liner is suede on the CF roof. The transparent top is just plastic.
All 3LT tops, minus the glass top have the suede liner regardless if you picked suede seat inserts, it's actually part of the upper suede package.
The dual roof package with that visible carbon fiber roof is by far the hardest option to get an allocation on. The glass top option is the easiest but does not have the same look at all.
