I would venture to say ...they same folks that find it ok for their new Vette to have a lousy paint job....would go crazy if they went out to eat and spent 50 bucks for a meal that was not perfect.
Heck my Toro lawn mower has a better paint job than my Vette..
There is a contingent of posters on this forum who are so invested in the C7 ....financially... emotionally or otherwise, that they cannot tolerate any criticism of the car, whether uncomfortable seats, orange peel...you name it. By making known your frustrations this crowd will make you feel like you're a jerk to mention it at all. Sad that folks are so intolerant these days
My '15 was bad but the '16 is almost embarrassing...... I love NRB (the '15 was the same color as well) but it almost makes me want to go with a lighter color so it would be harder to spot

Are we saying they got worst? Sounds like they dont care now that the new paint facility is on the way.
Based on what I read and see in this thread I feel fortunate. On a scale of 1-10 I say my '16 LB coupe is a 7-8.
If all the painting is done by robots what is the explanation for the OP on some cars?

My wife's Lexus is close to a 10. My Audi is a 9+.
Its embarrassing how much orange peel are on some of these cars, And its so laughable how GM apologist act like its okay to throw down $60-$70k on a car with paint quality on par with low end Maaco jobs.

I am driving my 4th and FINAL vette (2014) until I see substantial improvement coming out of BG....
I believe the response from GM about the current Paint production while bragging on what the new shop will be was "........not that I think what we are doing now is bad..." really. Look they have eyes...they see what is going on. There is a team of people that all they do is look for issues like we are having and until many , not a few, many people refuse their cars at delivery..will they be willing to do anything about it as long as the dealers keep turning back cars to customers that are "within spec". Mine is CG and is not bad, worse on sides. I was not expecting perfection, though given what I see it is not anywhere under control and either the QC team with their special lights are blind or they are being told to let them pass......sad
The more I study my paint the more I see orange peel and the worse I feel. Yes it is an awful paint job by GM. My solution, which works for me, is to not study my paint and realize it is an imperfecion on most C7s and just enjoy the car.

The paint on my 2015 TR is pretty good but, not to the level of the BMW(s) we have and unfortunately not as good as the paint on the 2015 Challenger Scat Pack either. It's not bad enough for me to complain to the dealer about it though. It's just a car.
The bigger issue I have with the Stingray paint is it chips easier than any other car I have ever owned. I have more chips in my highly pampered 3000 mile Stingray than any other car we have in the driveway right now with 50k to 120k miles of hard work commute miles.

Funny you say that about the chipping problem Jack. Granted I have only 3000 or so miles on mine as well, but my front end is chip free. I don't do much highway driving though, and try to keep an extra gap between me and the car in front. Of course that seems to be an open invitation to everyone to jump into the proper spaced gap! I do agree on the OP issue - bad but there are so many good things that GM did with the car I have to make myself overlook what pretty much anyone would consider a less than adequate paint job for a 70k car. They have acknowledged it by funding the new paint facility, but it is not going to help those that have their cars now.
