First Corvette
We had talked about eventually buying a Corvette and thought that that would happen only after the kids moved out (which is still 10 years away). But after the latest rental we talked about it some more and agreed that since we could afford it, we should go for it now. So we did it.
In October we ordered a yellow C7 convertible 2LT with black racing stripes, black wheels, black seats and top, and the performance exhaust. The dealer told us to expect to wait until the end of January for delivery. But the progress went a bit faster than expected.
Oct 30: Ordered
Dec 7: TPW
Dec 8: Built
Dec 13: Shipped
But we live in California, so I had no real idea how long it would take to get it, especially over the holiday. So imagine our surprise when on Saturday, Dec 26 we get a call from the dealer saying that the car was in! He wouldn't have it ready to take home until Monday, but we could come look at it and go through the paperwork. So of course we went right in. We finished the paperwork and went to see it, and it was perfect. Then the salesman proceeded to tell us that the shop had finished up all of their work already and that we would be taking the car home that day!! Talk about excited.
Anyway, we brought the car home, surprised the kids, and have been pinching ourselves for the last two days not believing that this was real. But every time I go out to the garage, amazingly it's still there.
I've mostly been lurking here on this forum trying to absorb everything I can about the car and the special bond that all of you other owners have. It feels nice to have such a supportive group who share a love of this beautiful vehicle. I hope to learn more from you all over time. And I hope that maybe our story will encourage even one more person to take the plunge and join the club too. Thank you all.
Just out of curiosity, (and if you don't mind me asking) what part of CA are you in?
Reason I ask is I live in San Diego and also have a 2016 C7 on order... it looks like you got yours in 13 days from the factory after it was built, which is quite quick for a car coming out west on rail.
Congrats again!

as said above; "DON'T FORGET THE WAVE"
This is my second of the newer generation. Had a couple way back before kids - they are addictive - my bet, couple years you'll be looking for a new Z conv !!! LOL
Don't forget to post your pics here as well:
