I know, I know, a rather controversial subject. Not sure if this should be here or in the "tech" section so I will see how this goes. As I did a search and produced a long list of threads that have entirely nothing to do with driving gloves, I thought I would ask. Are any of you using them out there and what brand do you recommend. No budget restrictions, just looking for a good, high quality pair. As I have the black leather wheel with white stitching, I would like too keep it looking nice and also eliminate that slight tacky/sticky feeling of the wheel after driving for a bit. Thanks for your time and let the bashing begin...
I have found two sources of quality, leather driving gloves. Around the holidays Griot's Garage offers a glove that are black in color and made of a very thin, yet strong, leather. The palms are fairly smooth and the backs are perforated. They sell for around $100.00 a pair.
The other source is Orvis (.com). These are soft lambskin, only come in brown and cost around $70.00 a pair. I find the sizes run a little large as I usually wear an XL, but wear a Large in these gloves. A smidge thicker than the glove mentioned above, but good feel and a quality product. I have had mine in daily use for several years.
I have used them for the last 20 years, I have found most either like them or not. Those that have never tried it, usually laugh the loudest or make the most noise.
Fortunately the screens in the Corvettes have all been compatible, the iphone is not !!
I get mine from ETSY these days they have a nice deerskin set with open knuckles for a reasonable cost. These usually last me about 3 years, then they have been stretched out and fingers are worn...
Thanks for the info FiremanC7 (BobD). I purchased a pair of Orsini gloves and will try them the next time I get the car out for a drive here in a few weeks. Ken C7, can't help you there with tube socks and sandals as we just wear flip flops out here in SoCal but seriously, I should have expected such a well thought out and comprehensive response from someone who takes the time to post American Idol updates.

Nice one.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful with respect to the glove question.
In the end we are all Corvette enthusiasts and I meant no offense.
Ok I have another take. I almost never have the top up. In the CA sunshine I worry about getting the backs of my hand sun burnt and really worry about melanoma. True. On my boat I always wore gloves and covered every inch of my body. Looking for gloves
