Lets see what the Vette Bash brings...That will be the deciding factor. The 10 speed is useless cause I want Manual. If they change anything with the styling or something tech related then I will wait.
I do think there will be a HP increase to the base LT-1 in 2018 and better paint options/quality. That said, I was waiting to buy in 2015 a Z06 and now am planning on the 2017 Grand Sport, because that's what I wanted all along; the way I look at it, even with a first year premium, the 10K discount off the Z is well worth it. I also save gas (it's nice to have a little extra from a daily driver you don't plan to track).

BTW, a TSB, if issued, would be covered under warranty, but certainly you already knew that...
I never said wait forever. 4.5 weeks isn't that long. I made that mistake in '07. Never again. If it's close to the bash and I get the urge for a new Vette, I'll wait it out thank you.
Im going to wait for an announcement. At least the announcement is before they cut FO's for the 16s. If I do end up getting a 17, its gunna suck cause I wanted to use it during this summer. And also I hate waiting .
I'm assuming you know that jumping on one now, at one of the largest dealers, as opposed to ordering a '17, will most likely save you more than $10,000! IMO that's a no brainer. Good luck with your decision.

Discounts will be even more once the '17 my is introduced. Especially with the GS coming out.
What if the 2017 just happened to have a DCT(not saying it will)?
It might have the new GM-Ford 10-speed auto going into the Camaro - but that is not a DCT, and it likely isn't a performance step up from the current 8-speed as its primary purpose is smoothness and fuel economy.
I,m thinking that there could be a connection between the Z06 delay and the Corvette body panel mfg. that is expanding production in Huntington City, Ind. Now that GM will have the GS to use the existing production of Z06 grill, fender and hood panels. This would allow GM to focus on the Z06 and rework the front grill area for better air intake to address some cooling issues and make room for additional coolers. GM could also produce new front fenders without spats and a new hood to accept the 2.3 blower for a HP bump. This is all speculation but could address issues and wants expressed by others.
I was watching Sebring IMSA 12 hour TV coverage yesterday and I thought I heard Jan Magnusson say during an interview that next year the car would be completely different. Did anybody else catch that?
The discounts are on in stock units only. The o/p is wanting his built to spec !
Yes, I understand that; however, I would think odds are good he could find what he wants out of some 3 -400 cars in stock at just the 'big 3' dealers in the NE? Not to mention others that might match their deals.

Depends on what he is wanting. I know I couldn't. Very few have the two tone interior. Most had either black or chrome wheels. Not a fan of either. I wanted the dual roof option. Most don't. And, with the advent of android auto, why pay for the factory nav ? I'd sooner use a dash cam rather than the pdr.
Actually, you can order and still obtain the huge discounts.
Agreed. I was under the impression that some forum dealers are doing 11% off MSRP for new 2016 orders, and 12% off for in-stock '16s, and some offer 1.99% APR on top of that.

Yup…they're just building too many of them. I'm not even sure if they've lifted the overtime hours yet at Bowling Green. Obviously, I'm a big Corvette fan, having owned several and two currently; but I'll never understand why they won't adjust production more to keep demand really high? Sure, I get that their methods probably end up generating more sales and profit. It just seems like it wouldn't be enough to warrant diluting the unique appeal of their signature car.
