doubtful but ive heard of guys removing all the air pressure to save weight since we have runflats anyways who needs air right?
I shed some serious weight by doing the following:
1. Helium in the tires
2. Composite muffler bearings.
3. Synthetic headlight fluid
4. Removed the radiator and coolant related items
5. Removed the hood and fenders now that the car is air cooled.

[QUOTE=motomanvette;1591808067]Couldn't stand the look of the passenger side windshield wiper so I just took it off. Looks so much better without it. Before you ask, I did get caught in a rain storm and I could see just fine.
my wife would never let me get away with it if I wanted to---even with rain-X she will quickly say during even a sprinkle "turn on the wipers---I can't see!"
Not too worried about that since I've never been cited for no front license plate ever in 20 years as required by law here.
Now that's pretty good & congrats, though there must be no roadside "license/paperwork checks" in your state. Cops here in S Car set those up all the time usually on fairly busy back-roads(though front plates are not required here)
OMG Great responses. this thread had the wife and laughing. I suspect in all states it is illegal to remove it, on the other hand no one would get pulled over for it. Guess it is a personal thing but I never thought the passenger wiper was a detraction of the cars looks

I'm glad you brought this up. The last time I had my headlight fluid changed, the dealer really fought me about using full synthetic. Is there a TSB floating around that states FULL synthetic headlight fluid?
Also, where did you get composite muffler bearings? I use the unobtanium ones but I understand the composite muffler bearings save .00000000002 oz.
26706. (a) Every motor vehicle, except motorcycles, equipped with a
windshield shall also be equipped with a self-operating windshield
wiper.
(b) Every new motor vehicle first registered after December 31,
1949, except motorcycles, shall be equipped with two such windshield
wipers, one mounted on the right half and one on the left half of the
windshield, except that any motor vehicle may be equipped with a
single wiper so long as it meets the wiped area requirements in
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Governing Windshield Wiping
and Washing Systems.
(c) This section does not apply to snow removal equipment equipped
with adequate manually operated windshield wipers.
26707. Windshield wipers required by this code shall be maintained
in good operating condition and shall provide clear vision through
the windshield for the driver. Wipers shall be operated under
conditions of fog, snow, or rain and shall be capable of effectively
clearing the windshield under all ordinary storm or load conditions
while the vehicle is in operation.
Annual inspections are enough trouble without having to remember to put the wiper back on. I would also think more likely to draw a ticket than no front plate since plate is not a safety item like the wipes are.
Maybe he only takes them off for photoshoots and puts it back on afterwards.... Come on guys gotta give the man some benefit of the doubt here! hahahahaha
I don't have wipers on my car either.. or that's what everyone in our club thinks because they never see our car out when it's raining (that's what "Turkey" cars are for) .. hence, Al don't have wipers..
Well, i acutally agree that it does look better... gone are the days when GM had hide away wipers and their cars had a unique signature because of it....
I wouldn't do it though... just because of all the ridicule you get from your fellow forum mates....
I do like the idea of helium in the tires! how cool would that be. And the getting rid of the side mirrors is just a year or two away... maybe you are on to something.... ridding ones self of the wipers and WIPER motor will save weight, and this weight is high up in the body.... some handling will be better.... new coatings like an advanced RAIN-X will make wipers a thing of the past....
