Default C7 window problem

Just picked up my 2016 C7 Zo6 and was informed that there is a problem with the window indexing. When closing the door the window will not index down so you have to hold the door switch which indexes the window then close the door while holding the switch. The window does not operate open or close and when getting out of the car I have to push the interior door switch in to index the window so I can open the door.My dealer said they ordered a new door module in but I noticed another peculiar thing in that the radio keeps playing when I am out of the car with the door closed, when I open the door the radio will turn off. Are they related issues or is there something else going on? To me its almost like the car doesn't know if I'm in the car, entering or exiting the car. It seems to me there may just be a couple of wires reversed so the car is thinking I'm in the car when I'm not, any ideas?

That does not sound right. The Retained Accessory System should shutdown the radio as soon as you open the driver's door after you stop the engine.

But if you if you were just sitting in the car (engine not started or in acc mode) and pushed the power button on the radio to turn it on, then yes, it will stay on after the driver's door closes.

Did anybody try the to reset the window indexing:

Window Indexing
Indexing automatically lowers the
window a small amount when the
door is opened. When the door is
closed, the window will raise to its
full up position. If either window
does not index properly, it could be
due to loss of power. Before
returning to the dealer for service,
perform the window indexing reset
procedure.

Window Indexing and
Express-Up Reset

Window indexing may be required if
the vehicle battery has been
recharged or disconnected, or is not
working. Express-up and the
convertible top will not function until
the windows are reset. After battery
power is restored, a message
displays in the Driver Information
Center.

Once power is restored:
1. Close the doors.
2. Start the vehicle.
3. Hold the window switch up to the
fully closed position.

Was the engine running when you did this?

Consider taking to the dealer for the proper repair or fix.

I'm waiting for the dealer to get the part they need, I was just trying to figure out if that's all there is to it.

I am having a window indexing problem with my 2016 Z51. (I have gone through the indexing procedure per the manual) Mine does index, but does not go down far enough. If I'm outside and push the door partially shut, the top edge of the window is touching the door seal. If I put the window down a bit further, door closes fine. Is there a way to adjust the indexing so it goes down a little further??

Is anyone else having this problem?? MINE DOES INDEX, BUT NOT FAR ENOUGH TO ALLOW EASY DOOR CLOSE, STILL HAS A SEAL ON THE WEATHER STRIP. AIR CANNOT ESCAPE. IF I MANUALLY PUT THE WINDOW DOWN ANOTHER 3/8" SO IT IS NOT IN CONTACT WITH THE SEAL, CLOSES PERFECT! KJVETTE

Good chance the failure to index and radio not turning off when you exit the car (RAP) is related to the door module.

That's what I'm thinking, hope to get the part in soon.

I got "PITF That stands for "PUNCH IN THE FACE" That car is not leaving my sight. Those car jocks that work at the dealership better know what their in for. I just hate bring my car in for anything. I do my own oil changes but I think I'll even do my own oil changes that are apparently free.

Default did it ever fix this

Hello Kj,
was wondering if you ever fixed this issue with your car, my car is doing the same thing. Did you have to take it to the dealership to have the problem fixed or did you figure it out by yourself
just wondering if you

I know this is an old post sure you've figured it out by now but yes the radio staying on and door window issue are related. The door latch mechanism sends signal to cpu to shut down acc mode like your getting out of the car to go inside . That mechanism or latch is causing your door window issue and radio issue replace the latch and should resolve both issues. Stuff like this on there cars and GM is trying to sell the C8 corvettes for over 100k don't get me started on the ZR1 cost easy over 200K for an American made first year car .ummmm no thanks for another 70 grand I can go and buy the ACTUAL FERRARI GM copied the new corvette from uts crazy and people keep buying them . To stay out of copyright infringement they changed a couple of angles on rear of car . Shaking my head . Freakin GM
Sorry got off topic .
