Hate to spoil your fun, but that CHMSL is mounted in a . . . . spoiler. It may not be a full length spoiler, but nonetheless, it is one. So, maybe you guys should be saying 'I like the short spoiler' or 'the narrow spoiler'

OK. "I like a stealth spoiler." Looks pretty much like the "spoiler" (cough!) on my CTS VSport.

The OEM Z51 spoiler is attached with 9 screws/bolts (2 on the sides, and 5 in the middle) as well as 3M tape. Here's a link to give you an idea of its removal, although some were able to access the attachment points by just pulling the rear clip out slightly without completely removing it:https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...removal-3.html

As mentioned, you would have to fill the holes, prep, and paint...

BTW: I'm a member of the pro-spoiler club. I don't see where the "lines" are disrupted. It visually balances the car from front to rear and accentuates its "sporty" appearance... IMO.

Wow you guys don't make it easy. I have 5 days before my order goes into allocation. It's not a Z51 but I came home from the dealer and added the Z51 blade spoiler. I do like it both ways with or without. Being a member here on the forum for 9 years this reminds me of the question manual or automatic. For my $0.02 that's an easy one. My 07 is an A6, a beautiful car but just needs that extra something. The 2016 will be an M7 and after the test drive IMO this is the way a Corvette should be driven.
Back to the spoiler Thurs I will finalize my decision. Either way it is an awesome vehicle.

The problem is, most that I see for sale in the used market have some version of one. Not sure how they are mounted. Can they be safely removed without incurring any sort of body damage, such as left over holes from the mounting hardware?

this is how I handled my spoiler dilemma:

I couldn't delete the Z51 Spoiler because I ordered the Twilight Blue pkg. so after I drove my car from the Museum, I ordered one (High Top Spoiler-Corvette option) from Cultrag and when I had it mounted, I asked the shop to just plug the 2 extra holes with white colored plastic plugs (one on each side) so I could see if I was ok with that. If I wasn't, I would have had the rear bumper repainted. But as it turned out and as you can see from the photo, it looks fine with me and this way If I ever decide to reinstall the Original spoiler, the 2 extra holes will still be there.
Just my .02 cents and it works for me.

ps. You may have to zoom in to the picture to see the 2 hole plugs, one on each side of the 3rd brake light. I've shown the car at 6 shows already and only 1 person even noticed the 2 hole plugs!

If they came out with what I consider a good looking one I would go for it. Something a little ostentatious that is wing type. Something along these lines in the pictures below. Like others say, it is just a matter of preference and I really don't like what is available from GM. So I would rather go without until I find my own.

"If" I ever decide to install a spoiler this would be the one. IMO, it's the best looking C7 spoiler on the market.

It's a standard GM part called the "wing" spoiler.

Code: SB3

Didn't know that. Thanks. Yours is the first I've seen that looked like that and would be my preferred one. Also, as a side note, I really like your vents above the rear wheel openings and around the tail lights. They look a bit different, like maybe some parts of them are painted white to match the car? Is that something you did after market, or another factory option I'm not aware of? Still have a bit to learn about what's available on the C7 I guess.

I'm babysitting a buddy's C7Z06 with the Stage 3 aero with added center wicker-bill thing. It's a huge PITA trying to put the targa roof in the trunk w/o scratching the spoiler. Putting stuff in the trunk isn't difficult, but you have to pay attention.

Those are an option on all the C7's when you purchase. I have them on my LBR.

I didn't want a Spoiler when the C7 first came out.
But when I was ready to buy a C7, I changed my mind and like the Spoiler on the car.
Looks like something is missing without it.
Bottom line, it's personal preference and GM should offer a delete option for the Spoilers

Another new car option called "Body Color Painted Vents" (Code EFY) for $995. While it has been an option since 2014, it was on constraint for two years and the 2016 was the first model year you could actually get it. It's also for the hood vent and two side vents. I've had a lot of compliments about that subtle change and most people like them.
