I wanted to drive mine this summer so I was lucky and got in a 16 before the May 12th cutoff. My dealer had 1 allocation for a Z51. I've got a TPW of June 6th. Time seems to be standing still. I can't wait for it to arrive! Summer goes fast and your car will be here before ya know it!! Congrats!

There is no price protection from GM if an order has to be placed into the next model year production. Any freeze in pricing is strictly between the buyer and the dealer. GM does not roll over orders into the next production year. The dealer has to re-enter the order based on his weekly available allocations for the next production year.
This would not inspire confidence for me. The dealer should know for sure what model year you were getting from the start. I'd be sure to stay on top of them throughout this process.
