I couldn't care less and wouldn't use one if it had it.
Stuffed all my 50's, and 60's CD's on one SD Card.
After watching a Time Life "Best of the '70's" on TV got a list of the songs from their website and went to YouTube, found the songs I wanted, made MP3's then added additional ones I had or recalled and have another SD Card with those. They play in a shuffle mode as soon as I get in the car. No paying for XM, no back sides of hits etc etc!
PS: I'm only 73 so not old enough to reject new technology but did go thru poor quality AM radios, 8 Tracks, Cassettes and floppy disks and IOMEGA Drives for my computer!
Being an old man I was dragged into the future kicking, and screaming. But, I have to say that one little flash drive with all of my music is much better than 30+ CD's strewn through the car.
Thought I'd miss it when trading in the C6 and had CD's with 100 MP3 songs burned on each CD.
But can't beat that Micro thumb drive with 1000's of songs on it plugged into the USB port
No problems with GM eliminating the CD player. Carrying CDs in a car is a PITA. SD cards are the only way to go. My '14 BMW came with one and I've never put a disc into it.
I was bothered by it initially, but loading thousands of songs on a memory card or usb drive is so much more convenient to have a rolling jukebox everywhere you go...
Getting audio books from CD to jump drive is a challenge. Many of the audio CDs do not have a consistent naming convention from disc to disc and the jump drive player does not have preferences as to how to play the files (name sort or date created order).
Most books would fit on 2 CDs and with a 6 CD changer, I could load up 3 books to listen to. Now I have to go through a lot more steps to be able to listen to a book in the Vette. PITA
