It's not really about needing/wanting a blower for blowing the whole car bone dry. True, it's good for removing excess water from body panels before wiping or blotting with a towel, but it's best for blowing water out of crevices, which prevents water spots/trails. Those areas a towel just can't reach. It's also great for blowing water off wheels and from around lug nuts, brake rotors (wet rotors can fling rust colored crud around a clean wheel) and sidewalls (tire dressings work better when the tire is dry).

Now, one can spend $30 for a corded electric leaf blower or $200+ for a high end corded or battery powered model (or anywhere in between). That's up to to the individual. I like my small Milwaukee cordless blower because it's also useful for cleaning tasks around the house/garage that don't require a big leaf blower (front steps, garage floor/work-bench, etc.). While it may look like a toy leaf blower, it's a well made, powerful little unit.

If you want to keep your clear coat in good shape then $400 to touchless dry versus a wet sand and refinish every few years is worth it.

Sounds like those who have them used them for years and its a solid piece of equipment that will last a long time.

I'd love to get one, but make due with my Stihl . I wanted something that could handle yard work so I put the money there.

My two cents worth is: nothing wrong with a leaf blower, just don't use one that has ever been used for that purpose. There is all kinds of crap that may be now blown across the surface of your car.

Spend a relatively small amount on a leaf blower (vs a "master blaster") and use it exclusively for this purpose.

For those of you that considered Autogeek, thank you. We do offer a full time, guaranteed lowest price opportunity as needed. That said ...

The MasterBlaster is a great tool for drying your automobile/bike/rv and offers a lot of build quality for the buck. This is not a leaf blower by any means, and several years ago I too suggested one was equal. Sorry ... no comparison. This is one tool that I would seriously buy again without question ! You see the comments about warm air, 8hp, and long out tube are actually a huge part of the benefit. It moves much more water than a leaf blower and indeed removes most if not all water on most finishes. The best part is that the Master Blaster from Metro is not bulky while using. The machine simply moves around follows you while you tug as you go. (the new machines called Revolution now have rotating front wheels which is even better). My wife even uses it and says its like the family dog just following us around the car.

What I will offer is that I wash two cars weekly. My machine has to be at least 4 years old currently. It has only had to have the cord replaced, and the manufacturer was happy to send a replacement. It does pop the breaker once in a great while, but never sparks or any issue with machine. You should keep the machine free as the air comes in from the rear and thru the two motors set in tandem. If you have a friend or neighbor that has one, consider giving it a far shake. When I now measure the cost of the machine in uses, well its a great bargain. I know of some that add a longer tube and attach the blower to a wall semi-permanently.

And for those that want something a little cheaper, and not ready for a Master Blaster. We now offer a dedicated dryer also. Its not a bulky as a leaf blower, and a nice medium.

I do understand the desire to reduce touching that fine finish. I also understand that most may feel a leaf blower is a cheap choice. Just remember not to use it around the house, especially if picking up leaves/dirt/sand/small stones. Also keep that rough plastic end away from paint.

Biggest Stihl backpack leaf blower: 20,944 fpm/238 mph velocity, unfiltered, ambient temperature air

My current Stihl hand held blower: 13,992 fpm/159 mph velocity, unfiltered, ambient temperature air

Master Blaster Revolution: 58,500 fpm/665 mph velocity, filtered, ambient+60º temperature air

For a guy whose favorite TV show of all time is Home Improvement, there is no question: More Power! I should probably be careful around the edges of the Xpel.

I do kind of wish they had given it a different name, It sounds more like a K-tel As Seen On TV product.

I will let you know tomorrow...

^^^^ You won't be disappointed! You will have to master the art of holding the powerful hose in one hand and a good microfiber towel in the other hand as you dry the car off. Once you launch that towel a couple times with air you will figure it out. Best way to dry a car in my opinion.

Men are so funny, sometimes, dancing around what they really mean. Good narrative.

i have the large master blaster. If you have hard water it is worth every penny. If you've ever had water spots on your car that you can't get out without a full buffer detail, you'd think so too. In conjunction with my water filter, i have not seen a hard water spot at all.

Bought my Master Blaster years ago and still like it very much. Nothing better for drying quads and side-by-sides. Also works great in the winter for thawing frozen water pipes.

Been using the large one (4+4 HP) for about 4 years now. nice filtered warm air, unlike a leaf blower. Car is never touched with a drying towel so no swirl marks and blows water out of nooks and crannies, out of side view mirror housing and even side window rubber moldings. As mentioned, also great for wheels, calipers and rotors.
Do hunt around the internet, you could save a few bucks. Seeing it for $345 - 350 range

They do make a lot of noise but less than a gas blower!
