Default 2016 Final Corvette Statistics

The final 2016 Corvette statistics are out! I was anxious to see how many Daytona Sunrise Orange Z06s were made. 251 is the magic number! Check it out.

And that is only because Z06's were at 29% manuals, Base and Z51, which were surprisingly equal in take rate were only at 17% manuals.
At the current take rates, manuals will likely disappear in the C8.
For the first time Base cars outsold Z51's by a small margin - I guess that is why there haven't been any constraints on Z51.
Was there any surprise White, Torch Red and Black accounted for 53% of sales, that convertibles were only 18% of the total and the Black interior was chosen by 60% of buyers.

Thanks for the info Elaine. I too was waiting on the stats.

It's surprising to me that all the years that silver was at the top, it dropped down to 6% in '16. Even more surprising to me is that I was never a big fan of silver Corvettes, and ended up buying one of the 365 Blade Silver convertibles built in 2016. My oh my, how things change as time goes on.

NRB was killed in November 2015 iirc.

How did the colors pan out? Most popular was Arctic White with 21% followed by Black (17%), Torch Red (15%), Shark Gray (12%), Laguna Blue (9%), Long Beach Red (8%), Corvette Racing Yellow (7%), Blade Silver (6%), Daytona Sunrise Orange (2%), Night Race Blue (2%) and even though it was not available until very late in the model year, Admiral Blue still snagged 1% (or 336 cars).

I find it amazing that only ~1,500 of the ~40,000 built had this:

I think the Museum is missing out on some BIG bucks by not offering to sell us something like the "Marti-Report" for all of us Corvette owners. This is where they would type in all the info of your car and it would spit out exactly how many were made exactly like yours. The Museum could easily charge $100 per certificate and if only 10% bought this that would mean $400,000 to the Museum with very little effort. Elaine....are you listening???? $400K

The NCM can't offer it because GM doesn't maintain or provide data on model / option / color combos. For example, they know how many cars were built in Torch Red and how many cars were 3LT, but they don't provide data on how many Torch Red cars were built with 3LT.

Huh? They have all that in digital records. How do you think the can pull up and print a build sheet instantaneously?

Everyone is missing the point. 40,600 something Corvettes were sold in 2016. The economy is very well. That's the point. Colors, models don't matter. Times are good again, thank God.

Yes, the raw data exists. The problem is that it isn't crunched to produce the quantities of combinations that were mentioned earlier in this thread.
