Can someone give me the amount of downforce generated by the Stage 1 (Z51) spoiler; the Stage 2 (larger end pieces but without the center wicker bill; and the complete Stage 3 spoiler)?
I have heard that the complete Stage 3 with the wicker bill flush with the top of the winglets will cost the average driver about 3 to 4 mils-per-gallon at standard road speeds and want to verify the veracity of that statement.
In the ask Tadge thread about aero properites he says this:
Personally I think the "blade" spoilers, all of them, look terrible and are really "old school" and don't go with the modern design of the C7. As well as slowing the car down and increasing fuel consumption.

That spoiler you have looks pretty good. Just an aside. I didn't add a spoiler as an option when I bought the car because I didn't like the looks of any of the designs that were offered. I have been waiting to find one that I can look at and say "That's the one baby!" I like the wing spoilers that the race cars have, but that is way over the top.

My spoiler was/is a GM optional spoiler called the "wing" spoiler. I ordered it with the car and it was a "dealer installed" option.
If I decide to go with a spoiler I will go with the one in the picture and have it painted LBR to go along with my body colored vents. I will probably get it from Darr that allows for 3M tape installation. $299 painted.
Here is a picture of the spoiler style. If it is good enough for Jake its good enough for me.

I just ordered one from DAR. Talk to Jordon there at (info@dallasautomotiverestyling.com) and all your questions will be answered. Mention you saw it on the Corvetteforums.
So going back to my original question. What would be the recommendation? High rise or flush? From what I gather so far the Wicker is out of the question for my car.
Put on what you think looks best. Don't get caught up in all the rederic of it slowing down the car, it's all nonsense. Like your going to be in some sort of speed competition on your way to dinner or the mall.
Thanks. I am going to get the DAR wicker style and they say it comes with tape and to use silicon adhesive - is the promoter different?
Yes it's different. I developed this adhesion method for DAR. When you get it send me a PM. You will need to go to Home Depot or similar and buy silicone adhesive it's similar to that rubbery bath tub caulk. The 3m adhesion promoter is a liquified version of the glue they use on the orange backing 3m emblem tape that will come on the spoiler. Once that tape touches that promoter it's on for life so you only get one chance to get it on right. Take a good long time practicing just where it needs to go before final installation. You will put nickel sized blobs of the silicone in between the double sided tape 4-5 equally spaced applications on each side of the spoiler just before attaching it with the tape.
