I was able to change mine without YouTube, the manual or this forum. It really was pretty easy. A little more involved than most vehicles but still pretty easy. Probably about 45 minutes including the head scratching and tool search (my garage is pretty cluttered).
Ask away man don't let the comedians and bone heads detract you. Most could answer your question by the time they typed in a sarcastic answer. We all know about the OM but the answer U R looking for may be buried in the middle of 800 pages. I always give an answer if I know it or move on.
Compared to most vehicles it is difficult. Too bad so many here just want to criticize someone for asking a question that most new owners do scratch their head about. What did we do before YouTube when it comes to how to videos, helluva lot better than the owners manual.
I recently purchased a 2016 Z51, and in looking over the engine compartment I was wondering the same thing.
I remember the old days when you just gave a wing nut a twist and 30 seconds later you were done.
A lot more involved that that simple wing nut! The above video is good but there are a few things the pro's make look easy that are not that obvious! That red lock on the Mass Flow Sensor electrical connection is one and "pressing" the gray tab on the other hose (many of these in the car) is also not obvious. Also DO NOT remove the center screw on the air duct cover!
Here is a picture PDF of my install of an aFe low restriction cleaner and tube. The removal of the OEM "stuff" is the same. http://netwelding.com/Cold_Air_Intake.pdf
There is a 3 minute video for it's install by aFe that makes it look very easy but it took over 2 hours with a number of minor tricks!

You have that right...there just seems to be more nasty, sarcastic, and just plain rude responses all the time on this site.
When you do change it, get a filter that will not require changing that often, like a K&N for example.
Or a Green Filter.
I am not mechanically inclined and plan to pay someone to put mine in when the replacement car arrives soon - not worth the frustration trying to do it myself.
