Don't want to send the thread in a different direction, but any thoughts on the differences between the Borla and Corsa x pipes? Are they similar enough that it comes down to just a matter of which you can the better deal on?

can t believe there is any hp gain, maybe louder, louder does not mean more power. much like the cai folks clamin 15hp. not happening, maybe at 150 mph it may make a difference.
Thanks for the thread link. After going through it, it seems the main differences between the two x-pipes is that the Corsa is a 3" pipe with a double X design, and the Borla is 2.75" single X. It also seems that owners of both brands are about equally happy with their choice. I believe the stock npp exhaust on the C7 is 2.75", so would the Borla be a better match than the 3" Corsa or does it matter?

The Borla matches up perfectly with the stock NPP piping, which is also 2.75" ID, while the Corsa's needs to be crushed down with a clamp and seems to get more complaints of exhaust leaks since its not a perfect fit. Some Z06 guys have actually noticed a loss in torque by going with the 3.0" Corsa (I'm not sure if that's because of the diameter of the piping, the double-X design, or both). In my opinion (I'm sure many will disagree), the double-X is just Corsa's gimmick to change the exhaust tone slightly.

The removal of 2 catalytic converters is where the power gain, and increased volume, is found.

i agree, the tone is there. but i doubt very much any hp gains, i have talked with a few vendors and shops on this. i am not saying it is not a bad thing doing, it, cause i am doing it myself, but for tone, not hp.
one vendor told me was a waste of gold.. so be it. is my gold so..
but thanks

can you clarify their "waste of gold" comment? was that directed at a hp gain, tone change, or both?
if they were referring to hp then i agree and am fine with that. if anyone claims they can feel, seat of the pants, any hp gain less than ~50 i would debate that all day long and i dont think these systems allege that.
if they were saying there were no sound changes i would be interested in more data to back that up.
this would be a sound improvement purchase for me. i could care less about hp; cant use the hp i have in stock form as it is.
A vendor also once told me that getting my OEM exhaust manifolds ported & coated was a waste of time and money, right up until they before & after dyno tested them

I can hardly screw in a light bulb, but I did this myself. One thing though is one pipe was a little out of round and I had to pound it little to perfect it so it would fit.
Other than that, if I can do it, anyone can. So have confidence.
I did mine my 14 stingray on the ground with race ramps... a second set of hands when you drop the unit was a big help.... it does boost the sound a bit...but dont expect it to sound like straight headers!! My stock ZO6 rattles windows when I jump on it so not going to bother
Installed the Corsa X pipe. Great fit. Zero issues with the 2.75" to 3" diameter pipes. Wanted it to breathe a little better with less restrict. The stock x pipe was fine but I did it mainly to rid the two rear cats (resonators). Hope this helps.
oh, and it does sound better. A little raspier.

Michelin Pilot Sport AS plus zero pressure. There is a new version of this tire that has non directional tread design. They seem just as sticky and grip handy as the stock tires. I like to drive in the winter too. So for example, today it was 29 degrees and sunny. We went out and hit the on ramps WOT. Also did a couple of launch controls. The on ramp signals were on today, so we got to do a complete stop before launching or running 5 mph punches. Oh my, what fun! And it was loud with those pipes. Really sounds good. Bark, pop and burble. What a life.
