Default LED side marker lights

Has anyone replaced the factory side makers with something like the Oracle side marker lights or other brand? There are a couple vette's in our club that did this and they look very sharp.
Here's a link to their site oraclelights.com
I'm not promoting them or have any affiliation with them. I just think they look better than the factory ones.

There have been a few threads on this topic. Oracle had some initial fitment issues, but I think the issue is resolved or there is a fix. There are also vendors who take the OEM housings, maintain the reflective components, and add LED lights. You can also have them tinted as well.

Like anything cosmetic, it's mostly personal preference as to whether it looks "better" or not.

Isn't Oracle the one that if it isn't painted/clear coated won't be warrantied?
There was a recent thread on this.

There are many threads on this, but I will post my experiences.

If you buy the lights directly from Oracle, they can paint them and the color match is excellent, plus they paint and ship them unbelievably fast. I had them on my C6 but bought them from a forum vendor and it took weeks for them to paint them and the color was way off. The ones I got ghosted from Oracle directly for my C7 shipped in 2 days and matched perfectly.

There have been recent threads about the Oracles burning out after a few month. Mine have been fine. Not sure why LED would burn out so fast. A few reported, not just one or two people.

Fitment is a small problem. Yes, when you get them and put them side by side to the OEM ones, the Oracles are a few millimeters thicker. Also, on the driver's rear one, for some reason, will not sit flat. What you do is put a shim on the tab on the inside to make it sit flatter (tighter). The others 3 are fine.

Some have rewired them to have them always on. I was going to do that and actually made up the harnesses but then decided to just leave the wiring alone.

I love the Oracles. But it is tough crowd here and many poo-poo them. I get a lot of compliments on my ghosted ones. I would definitely get them again on my next vette.

I was interested in the Oracle side markers as well, but after seeing the fitment issues in numerous posts on here I looked elsewhere. Sadly the other alternatives for LED lighting I think are way too expensive for side markers ($300-$400+ dollars with a core charge). I ended up just vinyl tinting them, and I am very happy.

Any pics? I've never seen these except for their website.

They basically replace the one-bulb OEM look with a one-bulb LED look correct? That's different than the Oracle that uses an LED strip the entire length of the marker. The ones offered by Showstopper I believe are the OEM housings replaced with individual LED bulbs, not a strip like Oracle, that also run the full length of the marker.

Three distinctly different looks based on preference.

I tinted my Oracles myself, not difficult, and if you screw up just sand off and spray again. I sprayed them by placing in the box they came in which keeps the sides of the lens bright and reflective like the center area of the LED strip...gives a halo effect. If you have broken tabs or loose fitment just add some double sided molding tape..3M product at Autozone. I seem to end up using this tape on just about every mod I do!

Kelly,

I love my Oracle lights...should be OEM. Easy to install, somewhat pricey, but bright as a laser. Worth every penny...painted to match the Z51.

I bought the GS Creations and I'm very pleased with them easy install snaps in and plug into factory plug and looks awesome. Side markers and rear bumper inserts ( they were not as easy to install the bumper inserts. But look much better than factory. I get a lot of compliments on them.

So do the GS Creations 2-bulb LED markers retain the OEM reflectors? The Arctic White Z06 above with the clear GS Creations markers look like they do, however the Gray Stingray with the tinted GS Creation markers look like the reflectors are removed with the tint. Is the tint a film over the markers or sprayed?

I also went with GS Creations after reading the negative comments about the Oracle. The lights came ghosted for my white z51. The fit was perfect, easy install, less then 10 minutes per side, plug in the OEM wiring and ready to light. I do like the Oracle light strip better then the 2 led in the GS, but my main concern was quality and fit. Ultimately GS was a good choice for me.

The OEM markers are not retained. The GS Creations markers are separate units.
