despite all you read on the forum the vast majority of A8 owners have had no issues. I am 4000 miles in with no issues, coming form C6 manual 6 speed. I went with the A8 after reading multiple good reviews from car mags and he fact that it is quicker 0-60 than the M7. The shift speed of the new A8 is FASTER than the PDK.

that and the fact the issues usually manifest themselves at 10K.
I was looking for an M7 but could not find a car at any of teh local dealers that had an M7 in the color of car I was looking for and with the options, only A8's I miss shifting but the A8 is not bad, so far. Seems responsive when driven hard.
The A8 seems like a great performance transmission. I drove mine hard in auto and used the paddles when driving slower and wanted to hold a certain gear.

Don't make it sound better than it is.
It only shifts faster than a PDK a WOT and that's all due to programming logic. For the remainder of the 98% of shifts (even on a track) it shifts slower than any DCT i've ever driven.
Yes....meaning ??? I own the 2016 A8, built 10/2015. As an engineer, I find the design, packaging, performance well done. At the end of day, mass produced cars, with numerous supply chains, Quality checks, there still will be parts that will not operate as designed.
