Last time I was pulled over for 60 in a 30, it was because my wife left her insulin at home and she was going into shock.

They let us go.

Though it seems like when you drive an econo-box the natural habitat for that type of car is around 75 or 80. In a sports or muscle car it seems like that habitat is upwards of 100-110.

My wife said she won't be bail me out if I get caught going that fast. My uncle who owns a C5, said he would. lol.

In the suburbs here we have a lot of roads where doing 50 in a 30 feels natural. Whereas doing 90 in a 70 would really seem like excessive speeding.

Always a first, in everything, here in Florida you can take class room course or computer at your own pace, and it wipes out the ticket and insurance will never know to raise your rate. No points on license.

I haven't received a speeding ticket since 1969, but I feel my days are numbered up with the Vette and the Oregon State Police.

I asked him how fast did the radar say, he said he got a call from a sheriff saying you were doing over 100. Then it clicked , it was the dick in the pickup probably off duty. Anyways, of course no ticket since I wasn't really speading. But keeping up with the pick up. But I am still lucky I did manage to hit 135mph numerous times and 154 tops. Of course that is with no cars on the hiway and a straightaway with 100% visibility. But as soon as I hit those top speeds I just lay off the gas and slow down to normal speed and say wow that's felt good. Lol

wow great 👍 story!
Sheriff had no business going that fast
LEO's seem to be able to do whatever they want 😡

I haven't hit the lottery, but I sure am lucky.

I've walked for all of my last three tickets.

1st & 2nd - the officer did not appear in court.

3rd ticket - Jan 2016 - the officer appeared and withdrew the charge in open court!
(I knew it was bogus)

Best of luck

Yeah about the only time I see someone pulled over is state police on I5 south of wilsonville. Hopefully I don't see anymore police when the vette arrives.

I've been pulled over 4 times in the last 2 years while in my Z06. Only got 1 "no plate on vehicle" fix it ticket. Got my *** chewed out though. Oh and don't try and get the under cover cop in his Challenger to race. I was in my Camaro SS that evening. That would bring my recent total to 5.
Just kiss their *** and act as if to be willing to blo em, lol. NOT.

Brake pads are cheaper than tickets.

That said, when I whip the horses, I quickly real them back in.

This is the main reason for using the HUD. It should help keep your speed in check. I drive with my left hand on top of the wheel in my daily driver and can see the speedo. I've had to train myself what different speeds feel like. A lot of the roads in my area are 40 and I try to never exceed 45. 10 or over and you're toast

I live in VA - where it is not uncommon for people to do JAIL TIME for speeding in excess of 30 mph over the limit. I have found that I will 'step on it' in short bursts of speed and then back off quickly to a more mainstream speed.

Fortunately, my new C7 is NOT my daily driver. Even with my 'beater' being a 2015 Nissan Altima with a 4cyl, it is not unsafe or rare to cruise steadily at 80 mph on the Interstate and think nothing of it. With the C7, I really have to keep an eye on the HUD.

So-called "economy cars" of today are still much safer at 75 or 80 mph than were "performance" cars of 40 years ago at 55 or 60. Roads are better and cars have come light years from those days.......but the weakest link remains our country's dumbed-down motoring public.

I loved the Autobahn..... left lane for passing. Speed at own risk.

No BS drivers hanging in lanes. Turn signals always used. Why can't we in US have similar

My friends dad was pulled over for speeding. He was already on the Texas list for other violations and warned that any more points he could lose his license. So he hired a local attorney who knew the judge. The two of them went to court and the attorney had his plead guilty to disobeying a traffic sign. A fine but now points. So sometimes it pays to hire an attorney, especially one well known to the court.

A radar detector is always needed. I have mine mounted behind my nav screen. And a Corvette always looks fast!!

2 tickets in my C5, 1 ticket in my C6, 0 tickets in my C7, so far. Deserved 2 of the 3 tickets, 33 over and 28 over.

Valentine 1 at least lets you know you're getting pulled when you're the only one on the road and Ka goes full tilt in an "instant on" trap.

Beware in Lyman County South Dakota. Judge recommends 1 night in jail for over 100. Had to hire an attorney to get out of that one, but our Black Hills caravan has a great story now!

Too bad about the ticket. Sometimes just a little inattention to your speed is all it takes.

They don't mess around in NJ, I got hit for doing 107 in a 50, loss of license for 30 days and 4 points, but strangely never affected my insurance so I got lucky there, I just picked up my first c7 and was being stupid, lesson learned, now I have a Valentine One to provide some security lol.

People in the US tend to sleep. Most hardly ever use the turn signal when
Changing lanes. When they do use it after changing lanes then they forget
To cancel it.Many lousy drivers out there. It's really A shame.

Funny, but I've never gotten a ticket in any of our Vettes. The last ticket I got was the first one in >40 years and it was in a rental (Taurus or something). 🙄
