Damn, reading this reminds me that I am overdue for a piece of payin' paper. My last real ticket was ~12 years ago in my Camaro and only 1 photo ticket since. The Vette is still virgin.
Speeding is not good. However I would like to remind anyone who is or was former military to let the officer be aware of it if possible. I know someone who was pulled over last week on St. Patricks day doing 20 over the limit and when asked for his license he respectively pulled out his license and military ID, the officer said yes he was former military also and not even a warning was issued.
Yes he was lucky, This probably will not work all the time but it can't hurt. Good Luck and try not to speed.
We all respect the service the veterans provide to our nation.
There are many programs that provide support to the veteran after their service to ease their transition into civilian life, both by .Gov and private organizations & charities. Many employers have preferential hiring practices that target qualified veterans.
BUT we should not have two classes of civil justice for minor infractions, vis-à-vis fines for civilians and freedom from fines for prior military. Sorry, Casey VP26, your idea is wrong, we are supposed to be a classless society. No free traffic violations for veterans!
