I'll probably get roasted for blaspheming, but just a thought.
GM changed the American LeMans series rear engine Prototype Corvette's to Cadillac's then won the first three races of the season, 24 Hrs of Daytona, 12 Hrs of Sebring, and Long Beach.
Could this be a move to re-establish and make Cadillac GM's Super Super Halo Car?
Sure why not? If GM wants to expand into the "Supercar" market against Ferarri, McClaren, Audi, Lambo, etc. doesn't it make sense to use the brand name Cadillac versus trying it in a Chevy? After all they're going to try to get people with big incomes to spend boquo bucks on a product that also makes a Chevy Spark. From a marketing point of view it makes perfect sense to make the mid-engine Zora a Caddy!

Whew! I was waiting to get lambasted by everyone whose been waiting for a mid engine Corvette for years.
I watched the LeMans Prototype Corvette's kill it for the last couple of years, and was somewhat surprised to see GM change to Cadillac this season. But then we saw spy photos of an obviously rear engined Corvette looking something on the test track next to a Corvette looking ZR1ish something, and my thought was too many new Corvette somethings on the test track at one time!
It would be a cool move to introduce a Cadillac with a current winning race record. And come to think of it, GM could've been testing the Cadillac chassis and engine with a Prototype Corvette body on it the last couple years.
