Been running with no front plate on all my Corvettes since the C4 era (1984) NY does require a front plate, but most PO's look the other way. I got one ticket in my new 1985 Corvette by a NY State trooper.
Mike, how did you trim the aero plate? That is the route I want to go. Thanks.
Just take a coping saw and cut it down to the size of the plate..
Be careful not to let it flex or it can crack where it is not as wide due to the holes in the bracket.

In VA, they are like ***** about front tags. While I see some 'Vette owners driving sans plate, I don't want to do anything to arouse the local constabulary.
I don't drive my C7 often, but it doesn't look THAT bad with a front plate. Honestly, the EZ-Pass transponder & the state inspection sticker don't do much for aesthetics either.
I use a "Sto 'n' Sho" removable mount. Leave it on for normal driving, but pop it off in about 30 seconds for shows, etc.
My EZ Pass is mounted to the underside of the trunk lid, as far forward as it can go. So far, works fine on the Dulles Toll Road and Beltway Hot Lanes. Can't do much about the inspection sticker, unfortunately.

GM provides a better solution for less money. The reason they have the one that attaches to the bumper is because the Aero Panel isn't exactly legal since it is a few inches too low to meet state rules. Most states will let the height pass but some might not.

Thankfully, all TX gives a hoot about is that the car has a front plate. I'm sure I've po'd several troopers because not only was I not speeding, I have a front plate.
Still pushing my luck here in MN. I see a surprising number of nicer cars skipping the front plate, so I figure I will see what happens. I do have the front plate on a Zip removable frame sitting in the trunk.
No front plate here in NY where its required. I don't think the police bother with enforcing this law much. My pal in NJ has had Porsches without a front plate (required in NJ) for nearly a DECADE, he has yet to be pulled over for it.
I will take my chances. Pcad lives on the friggin EDGE.
