After 20+ years of playing hide and seek with the law, I too decided it was time to just bite the bullet...
I don't find the C7 attachment all that offensive. Granted my preference would be no plate, but...
I trimmed the "Aero Plate" bracket so the plate looks like it's floating in the grill...
I knew sooner or later, just enjoyed while I could! But I don't like looking over my shoulder every time I pass a LEO. Plus I'm in a very small town, I'll see HIM again!

I realize this is not legal, but figured its slightly more legal than running no front plate at all.
Is that a Mass plate?
My niece got a rejection sticker because her license plate frame covered up the "Massachusetts" on her plate!
So, yeah, I don't think this would fly - at least not here on the Cape!
Still pushing my luck here in MN. I see a surprising number of nicer cars skipping the front plate, so I figure I will see what happens. I do have the front plate on a Zip removable frame sitting in the trunk.

So true, I go to to of local "car shows", very few upper end car have a front license. I just don't want the extra attention! lol
On a side note, this was an extremely friendly officer, I think he wanted to see the car as much as anything, that said , how do you answer the comment "how does it run" to an officer!!!! I just changed the subject, didn't want to incriminate myself! ha.
I would never add the plate. I think it should be against the law to have a corvette with one on. Here in California if you get stopped it's a 25 dollar fix it ticket. I would just add the license plate on there pay the ticket and take it off (I never had to do that, my step dad being a cop he just writes it off for me). They don't seem to care as much over here if you have one. My step Dad says he would never stop anyone for tint or for no front license plate. He said there are more important things out there then that.

Answer: "I don't know just yet because I haven't been to the track yet but I'm hoping it runs faster than anyone else".

Exactly as you state above. I did the same as you and trimmed the Aero. Been pulled over a couple of times and let go. I like taking my vette to the golf course and usually only have have couple of beers after. Never intoxicated but surely don't need to give them a free pass to pull me over. I had a 350 Z ten years ago and was stopped twice. I've had a couple of camaros and vettes since all with front plate installed. I too live in a small community and will see them again.

I got lucky and the plate color matches my vehicle color, so I was pleasantly surprised with how it looks on the car. I'd be more disturbed by it if it wasn't a blue plate on my blue car.
I'd rather not have it, but it could be a lot worse. I also did the modified stock mount.
