I'm just going to throw this out there because I don't know if it's worth the 1000 bucks with install to get a Borla X but what if you just removed the two secondary bs cats and put 2 connector pipes in there, would there be a difference in sound/performance?

$1000 with install? I paid $390 shipped from a forum vendor and it took 2 hours on jackstands to install....
Just had the chevy dealership install my Borla X-pipe. Initially, the idling hasn't changed. I did notice a small improvement in the higher RPM's in regard to louder sound. I'm happy I did it.
Will the X-Pipe with no cats void warranty? If not I guess keeping the stock exhaust and adding the xpipe would sound better then changing to different exhaust and keeping the stock h/xpipe it comes with?

I can't speak for everyone, but for myself and the people I am friends with, I have yet to hear of a dealership even making a comment about the Borla X-pipe when it comes to warranty work (and one of my friends with it just had his primary cats replaced under warranty without a peep from the dealership about the Borla).
AFTER I installed it; while in for an oil change I casually mentioned to my Chevy service writer; What do you guys think about replacing the X-Pipe with a Borla that removes the two secondary Cats? I know for a fact he's a car guy and runs a bolt-on 350 older Camaro.
His answer -- "No problem with me, although I can't warranty the new pipe". Now whether the Service Mgr. screws me with a warranty problem, I don't know, but this is the second CV in a row with all the servicing done at this dealer and never any problems.
By the way, the Borla X-Pipe in track mode at WOT, high RPM's going up through the gears (A8) is awesome, short of changing the entire system out. I'm very happy with it.
I just installed mine on my 2017 GS M7 and I think it made a big difference in sound especially when you get on it and I also feel like the revs are faster or more free...I was skeptical with my purchase but am very happy I did it so far!
I got a 3" catless pipe off Ebay. I don't believe it revs any faster but it sounds good when I get on it, has more crackles and pops when I let off, but still isn't that loud. Researched axlebacks and think that'll be waste. I plan to get some longtubes now.
