Engine on my 2015 Z51 seems to be very hot after driving and pulling into garage. Temp gauge reads normal. Engine seems to remain hot for a long time after turning it off. Only 10,000 miles on vehicle.
Thanks.
Jim

Yep, some folks raise the hood-I have no idea why!
Mine never complains and eventually cools off! What is the concern?
15 degrees hotter outside and your coolant is 15 degrees cooler than mine runs..
I have a 14, is yours a newer year? Matter of fact, mine never moves off 220 degrees even if it is 30 degrees outside
Read the one above the speedo. Mine was worse on a really hot day 230. I put in a Dewitts radiator, also did Evans waterless coolant, Then put on a A/A TI blower then had to do a D3 double fan set up. Now on the hottest day it run 210 max with the air full blast.

If you select the touring display with digital temperature readout does it also read 220? I thought I recalled reading that the digital display on the '14 model does track actual temperature.
I have a 2016 Z06 and there is no dedicated temperature gauge since it is replaced by the relatively useless "boost" gauge but displaying the engine temperature gauge in the DIC area it agrees with the touring mode digital readout. Normal cruising temperature is around 190-192 rising to around 200 in stop/go hot weather city driving with the air on, oil stays within a few degrees of ECT as expected with the oil to coolant heat exchanger although the oil temp lags coolant temp in rising during hard acceleration and falling after this condition ends.
