Whenever there is a cloud within 20 miles - fortunately this only happens about every 9 months around here (like now during the monsoon season, and mostly at night)!
second one. First one I didn't have a garage and only had it for 3 months, was a C6. This is the second one. It's not my DD, I use the Jeep as my DD. Usually have had motorcycles but can't ride any more due to hand issue.
3 1/2 years old and I don't even know if my windshield wipers work! Only sunny weather!
I got caught in a downpour in my Ferrari last Friday, car didn't melt and handled great in the rain - not the first time it's been in heavy rain. Couldn't begin to count the thousands of miles in the rain I've racked up in Corvettes.
I love driving my car at night with the top down as long as the temperatures are in reason and I'm not on the freeway. I usually won't take it out in the rain to try and avoid spotting. If it does get wet I dry it off as soon as its garaged again. My car is not a DD.
I wont' drive it during the day or night.....of course, really, where we live now in Arizona I don't drive it in the rain. I can leave it in the garage those three days a year. I don't mind if it rains on our road trips. Nothing you can do about it anyway.
When we lived in Portland Oregon if you didn't drive in the rain you'd never drive it.
So far I refuse to drive it at night or in the rain.
My wife thinks I'm nuts.
I agree with your wife. The car is not made out of paper - it's made to be driven! All that rain will do is get it wet and maybe you'll have a desire to clean her. And the night won't do anything to the car, unless you're unable to drive at night for some reason...
Salt, snow and obvious conditions which would cause damage (tornado, flooding) .. I don't mind driving in the rain. Cars not made of sugar, it'll be fine.
I do fear hail. Had two cars damaged by 1/4 inch plus diameter ice *****. I hate driving any car in snow, well the snow is ok it is the salt (makes a new car look old with just one exposure).

That sucks big time. I am now on three wheels because of knee issues so I can relate. I can also relate to the night driving issue. I prefer the pickup because I sit up higher and on coming traffic doesn't blind me. I will go to a convertible for the next Corvette. Ease of entry with the top down.

Last fall I purchased a BMW S1000RR, was amazing and stupid fast.
I rode to work one day, about 35 miles, and about 12 miles in my right hand was completely numb, couldn't feel it, was dangerous. Sold the bike. I'm considering get a newer model with cruise control, but the Vette is feeding the need for now.

...Although I do have to admit I don't like driving any of my cars highway speeds at night because the cars get plastered with big dead splattered bugs.
