Salt, snow, rain, sleet, hail, high winds, hurricanes, tornados or thunderstorms in general for that matter, flooded streets, road construction, off-roading, painting street lines, laying asphalt, spreading driveway sealant, temperatures below 40 degrees F or over 90 degrees F, restauranting, nightclubbing, driving a to-be mother to the hospital if her water hasn't broke, breaking up with a girl who has a rat-tail comb and likes to stab seats when she is distraught (been there done that), wal-martianing, any day of the week that ends with the letter y, any day without a y between the hours of 12am and 11.59.59pm. pretty well covers it. vette hasn't been on the road or out of the garage since 2014. nice insurance storage rate for the vette from usaa. note on car in case it outlasts me: " send to Barrett-Jackson in 2067."
Salt, snow and obvious conditions which would cause damage (tornado, flooding) .. I don't mind driving in the rain. Cars not made of sugar, it'll be fine.
So far I refuse to drive it at night or in the rain.
My wife thinks I'm nuts.
Prefer to use the wife's SUV if it's raining! Why get the Vette dirty!
At night usually the wife and I are going out together and she far prefers I drive her BMW SUV. I do as well. When she's in the Vette I have to drive like an old man! No fun.
Also we have to travel on a 2 mile twisty narrow road from our house to get to the highway. On one side are woods, which many deer cross at night to eat the plants on our homes on the other side, many are lake front! If one deer crosses the road, several follow even if a car is in the way! Far prefer to sit up high in the large SUV - just in case!
