Our average annual snowfall here in the greater Syracuse area is a bit over 150 inches, that and low ground clearance, huge summer tires and big HP are not a good mix. Fortunately I have 2 other choices to drive, my wife's AWD Mercedes sedan and my 4WD pickup. Seriously thinking about a move to a more weather and tax friendly state though.
Well then come on down here to Lake Havasu, AZ. My friends and I have a free free drag strip and low taxes to boot! It gets hot. But so what. You move from your AC car to you AC house, and it is perfect for 8 months out of the year. We drive hard, play poker hard, and drink hard. Too much fun!
PS the gals like it too! You only live once, and if you do it right, once is enough as they say.

Still haven't figured out how to get a round bale into the cargo compartment. Only square bales. Cows are messy eaters. Worse is when one tries to climb in and wants to roll around in the hay.
When it's snowing, or there's a lot of salt on the roads. Otherwise, it's my daily driver. Been driven in monsoon-like rain, drizzle, and everything in between in terms of rain. A couple of weeks ago at Bloomington Gold I drove through water up to the door sills pulling into the parking lot. Driven in 100 degree heat and 18 degree cold, on long highway trips, stop and go traffic, and to the grocery store 4 blocks away.
It's a Chevy, not some million dollar exotic made of unobtainium with a paint job that costs more than a complete Corvette.
...Although I do have to admit I don't like driving any of my cars highway speeds at night because the cars get plastered with big dead splattered bugs.
If you got a good sealant on it they come right off the next day.
I'm not starting out in the rain, but if it does rain oh well! Brought the new one home in the rain and had to wash it as soon as got home. That sucked.
What really bites, I've had this car 8 days, driven it 4 as I was out of town some. Of those 4 days 3 have ended up in heavy downpours including the maiden voyage home. Got to wash it now, got pounded on the way home from Corvette Invasion.
when it's lousy weather because I don't feel like cleaning it up afterwards...been caught in the rain plenty of times...just slow down and drive sanely.
