My research indicates that Sebring Orange paint code has never been used on any other GM vehicle which means obviously we can't walk onto a dealer lot and look at it in person on a Malibu, Camaro, or Impala like we could with Siren red (Long beach) and Watkins Glenn Gray (Nightfall).
I have an Admiral blue GS on order that is currently at event code 1100 which means I could leave as is and it gets painted in the old line, or change the color to a color I have never seen Sebring orange (peel free)... ((irony)) in the new paint line.
Since you're a UNC grad, this Duke grad wonders why you are worried about driving a Clemson orange C7 when you driving a Duke blue one.
I get that question a lot. Duke is a fine school with outstanding academics and sports programs. I have no trouble driving a"Duke Blue" car but "Clemson Orange" no way.

Be a Duke grad and drive an orange vette. Go Gators!
Well after watching the color introduction it sure didn't seem like there was a whole lot of excitement about the new color. Cant see a whole lot of these being sold. I think Chevrolet needs to develop some fashionable colors similar to Porsche and Maserati. IMHO..
I predict the new Orange will only last a year or two and will be near the bottom in terms of sales. It appeals to a very select group. It is a color that will definitely attract attention. Not sure what interior colors would look good other than black. JMHO

I don't disagree with you. My enthusiasm chilled when I saw it was a metallic color.
The traditional biggest sellers (red, black, white) are ironically all non-metallic colors, which I prefer except on one of the endless shades of silver.
I am at Corvette FunFest at Mid America Motorworks now (this weekend). That panel from the new paint shop is here. I saw it in person, held it in my hands.
I can tell you from examining it VERY closely that everyone will LOVE the new paint process. It's a metallic color, it looks amazing.....NO ORANGE PEEL WHATSOEVER!
Oh, I'm quite sure GM is capable of producing ONE PANEL w/ no OP, even if they had to color sand it to get some good buzz going. It's working!
However, the fact of the matter is, no automated, factory paint process is in existence anywhere in the world today without OP. The only way to produce a vehicle without is a laborious, old-fashioned, human-powered process, and about 24 hours per vehicle doing it.
