2014 Corvette, dreaded black infotainment screen, car out of warranty.

A side question, does an extended warranty cover an infotainment screen?

Yes, GMEPP or what they now call the Chevrolet Protection Plan does.

There was a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) issued for the 2014 screens. Mine was replaced by the dealer at no charge. I was still under a CPO warranty which may have helped but, you never know.

This just popped up this morning. Infotainment screen black, it never flickered or anything. Volume, radio all work. I can touch around on the screen and it picks things, it's just... black.
I believe that would rule out any software or HMI issues, seems it would be something with the screen unit it self.
Does anyone have the current part number for replacement? I don't have a problem swapping it my self, just struggling to find the correct part.
Of course the car is out of warranty, not sure I can get GM to goodwill repair this 11 months after warranty because it's a known issue.

Check the connections on the HMI in the lower left footwell, that was all that was wrong with mine.

I was playing with them yesterday. Was able to pull a green and white cable out and reseat but was struggling to get the blue one out of the HMI. Will get back to it this morning, was too frustrated with it all yesterday.

I would attempt a quick look yourself before hitting the dealer. Mine was flickering, and it did go black once, so I took the advice of some forum members here, I easily popped off the driver side lower panel of the center console, found the two wires connecting the infotainment screen, I followed them, and re-seated the connections, and then I snipped off the tie wrap that seems to be the culprit of the wire staining and flicker issue. Took all of 10 minutes, and seemed to have solve my issue, more info on my thread here.

Struggling to unplug the cables through the hole in the side of the console. Think I'm going to need to pull the dash. Been putting off getting around to it but going to try and do it tonight

I keep my sunglasses behind it so usually twice every time I'm in the car. The night before it was dead I was out there retracting it a bunch of times as my wife had just bought me a shelf for the cubby for our anniversary and I was test fitting how to get our sunglasses and other items in there the best.

Sounds like the tie wrap may have strained or possibly caused a wire break. Since I have seemed to cure my issue for now, I now no longer retract the screen. You also need to pop out the triangle shaped cover as well to get access. I was looking up this part earlier this year as DISPLAY UNIT - GM (23410954), but now it seems that this is a DISCONTINUED PART? Not sure what the replacement number is now hmmm?

We will see how long mine lasts by clipping the tie wrap, re-seating connectors and not using the retraction feature.... Keeping my fingers crossed, as this part was available a few weeks ago when I checked for ~$460?

Spoke with Gene at Cultrag and he said the screens are on such bad backorder they won't take an order for one and I should check back periodically. This doesn't sound good. Not sure that site you linked actually has one in stock but I'll reach out.
