In the first case, we were on vacation and I used some 91% rubbing alcohol to remove the adhesive residue, the second time we were at home and I used 3M Adhesive Remover.

That's a good question. Hoping someone here can provide information.
I tried and removed two different sets of stickons. Each time, I used my wife's hair dryer set on Low and aimed at the stickon until it felt good and warm but not hot- didn't want to damage the "real" mirror. Then I used a pull/rotate force until the stickon came off. If that hadn't worked, I was prepared to use dental floss but it wasn't needed.

The driver's side is allowed to be convex in Europe just like it is on the passenger side in the US! Our law is from the 1930's as I recall and they have tried to change it a number of times.
But as I said like many old laws in the US, no time to fix when as soon as you win an election all your focus is on planning to get money for the next!

Yes, but do they actually come that way in Europe?

I don’t have any issues with the mirrors as is. I simply have them adjusted so I can see any car in my blind spots.

I agree with you 100% and I always said the same thing. But after driving a rental Mustang for a week on vacation with their "factory" blind side mirrors that I liked I decided to give the add on mirror below a try to see if it helped and I have to admit that even with my mirrors adjusted properly, on occasion I was missing people on my left. I'm liking the added perspective.
