Here's my 2019 right after it was unwrapped at the dealer and getting ready to get prepped. That's just dirt on the front bumper as it was sitting on the bottom of the truck and had a lot of crap kicked up on it in transit.
Raggtopp 3rd application just completed on a 2 week new vette. will dry to pure black. Glad 13 gal garbage bags's static cling stuck to the car, minimizing the need for masking tape. On the red patch just opened on the third spray a microfiber cloth picked up the raggtopp from the paint, leaving none on the paint. used about 95% of one can for the three sprays. now the 24 hour bonding wait. thats ok, snow called for tomorrow am.

I've had four — so far. Began with a 1958, then a long jump to a 1995, next was a 2011, and now a 2016. Two have been white and two red. I need a tie-breaker.
Ohio's a great place for convertibles. Two or three days a year, you can put the top down — if you don't mind rain!
While reviewing my 2019 Z06 Vert yesterday at the dealer (haven't picked it up yet), I noticed that the convertible top seems to make contact with the top of the seats when opening or closing (sorry, no pics yet). Q.1. Is this normal? Q.2. Will this cause any long term damage to the seat or top?
Sorry, but I have never noticed that at all. I will watch for it later this week, but don't think it happens on mine. And I keep my top up in the garage and quite often lower it and raise it with me in the seat and don't think that could happen if something touched the seat as tall as I sit. I also have the partition installed so nothing can approach the seat back from that direction. Can you post pictures?

Just went out and cycled the top on my 2017 both remotely to see the movement with the seat in the exit position and cycled again with the switch in a normal driving configuration.
For me, the exit position is 99.9% back and 100% fully raised followed by the normal driving position which is with the seat 99% lowered and would guess 75-80% positioned rearward. Regardless of position, the top does touch the back of the seat (headrest area) but with zero force and only in mid-cycle where the center of the top is folded before retracting back or before extending up to the windshield.
So to answer your questions...
Q.1. Yes it seems to be normal, assuming I'm seeing the same thing you observed. The top "touches" the top of the head rest area but I have to emphasize the word touch...
Q.2. I can't under any combination of circumstances see how this would cause any damage to either the top or the seats.

Bottom line, zero concern from what I can tell...

This is one of the best, most well thought out responses that I’ve seen. Thank you so much for taking the time to review my questions and to craft this awesome response.
Hadn't noticed the touching before so thanks for pointing it out but after observing it, I am quite confident it should present no long-term problem...
