I wear a pair of leather gloves when driving my C6 with leather wheel because I don’t like the feel of the leather wheel, never wear gloves in my C7 with the suede wheel.
If they make you a safer driver or you like them for any reason at all why not. This thread is awesome though so I'll join in the fun.... I promise if I saw you wearing gloves I wouldn't laugh though
Op should of started one of those Treads were we can get a percentage of ( do you or don't you wear gloves)...
I'm sitting here...( relaxing and visiting my go to SITE) so here's my remarks.
If you compete in any track sports, most likely you wear gloves.
If you GOLF you may wear a single glove when driving.
Does it carry an advantage when in a absolute must mode... I would say yes.
Would I.... not really, unless I change professions and I now Race cars.
I concur with...PobreWey.
Peace.
I keep my old pair of leather driving gloves in my car just for old times' sake. Used them in 1971 when I drove my 1970 LT-1 around the Nurburgring. Have not used them since I sold the car (to a German).
Been wearing them sinc I was 22 in my Honda Civic. I wear them every day surprisingly without any “rituals”, It does no good to explain why I prefer to because those that choose not to obviously do not get any of the reasons why we do. I do not make fun of them for not wearing any, and find it interesting the direction most of them take it. I get my gloves from leather gloves online, either deer or lamb and marone.....are these things soft. Will send pics and more info to those interested ...great topic
For the life of me, I can't understand why someone would care in the least what someone else they don't even know wears or does.
After reading posts here for years it seems some wish we all drove the same model, color, and wheel style car, wear the same clothes, and sing the same song in the shower as everyone else on the planet.
Last time I checked my address it was in AMERICA. Land of the FREE, and home of the Corvette!
No. I never wear gloves on anything. Except the Harley if its kind of chilly. In my 23 years of driving I have never had a damaged steering wheel from touching it. Thought maybe thats what it was designed for.
Driving gloves are useful if you have a solid wood or plastic wheel AND you don't have power steering. With the coming of PS, gloves went riding off into the sunset...
