Finalist 2020 C7 of the Year -- Unmodified
Personally, I thought the C5 and C6 convertibles looked terrible with the top up, almost as if someone cut the roof off and stuck on a piece of canvas to cover the hole. The convertible top did not follow the lines of either car well at all. I believe GM did a much better job following the lines of the car with the top up C7 convertible.

When it comes to snow/ice.....I'm not going to willfully drive my C7 in it. Doesn't have anything to do with it being a convertible. I just think @ $70K out of pocket for it, that I'll find other means to get around in it. The old days of driving my new C3 in the snow/ice Up North in Nebraska are thankfully over long ago.

When I bought my C5, I decided on a coupe with the dual tops (tinted and solid). I'm in Texas so I drove a lot with the top off but not as much as I would have liked as it was a bit of a pain taking top off/on every time I stopped somewhere. I figured the coupe was the best of both worlds - until a few years later when I drove my neighbor's C6 vert.
To me it was a night and day difference. Made the C5 targa experience feel like a sunroof in comparison.
There was no question when I bought my C7 - had to be a vert. Even my wife was blown away by the difference in the driving experience.
She says it makes every drive an outdoor adventure. Sounds about right.
The push button auto top is just icing on the cake.

Don't get me wrong - I love my C7 coupe, but on sunny days like today (71 degrees and perfect in mid-February in CA) taking the top off the car makes it a different creature all together. I love it so much more. Which leads me to wonder if I should have bought a convertible.
I have never owned a convertible, but if I get another Corvette, I'm thinking it should have a soft top. Anyone else feel the same?

Crystal Red Coupe
I bought a 15 coupe, crystal red tintcoat, a real eye catcher. Never got so many looks from people gazing at the car. I love it but always remembered my first and only other vett was a 86 vert. We had a lot of fun in it even though we live in Ohio. So we traded it in on a 17 blade silver with red interior vert. We would have ordered a crystal red but it was changed to longbeach red which we don't like as well. As we drove it home from the dealer March 2, 2017, my wife and noticed it was really tight, I mean it was and still is as tight as the coupe was. I would do it again. Hope that helps.

No one said there is, but they are to “real” sports cars in the same way C-7 verts are. Implying a coupe isn’t, tongue in cheek or not, doesn’t line up with the fact 80% of C-7 are Coupes and so are Corvettes that race. Opinions on here are just that, wink!

So by that logic the "proper" configuration for the Corvette would be Coupe and Automatic. You know, both have roughly 80% of the market.
Good to have choices, as this would not be the configuration I would choose.
