Why does my HUD change?

Our 2017 HUD always stays in the same place until we move it. Which is one of those "WTF?" features on the C7; our C6 had the HUD, climate, and sound controls all tied to the memory system. Much nicer.

HUD, will always return to it's prescribed factory setting programmed position on start up. I don't even notice it anymore, ; unless I'm wanting to use it at 1st gear M7 start up. My engine is so quiet even at Track setting, I must rely at times on the HUD tach, since surrounding traffic conditions drown out the exhaust sound of my C7. After a while, you won't even see it unless you're looking for it - esp. if your C7 is an A8.
