Ok, not to defend the OP, but I was shocked at how uneventful the Grand Sport’s acceleration felt on my test drive.
Until I peeked at the speedometer and realized I was doing triple digits. On surface streets.
the C7 doesn’t throw you against the seat because the car has zero squat upon acceleration. NONE. The sensation of speed isn’t as evident as in larger and heavier cars with softer suspension. But blink, and you’re in land in jail speed.
I’ve driven and ridden in Audi R8 and Nissan GTR, and they “felt” similar as in the car’s don’t seem THAT fast, but you look over at the car next to you and suddenly realize they’re several bus length behind you.

First time Corvette owner here, got my C7 M7 last year, never been in a Porsche, Lambo or Ferrari so nothing to compare with, but have to say that the acceleration is also not what I had expected, with what I expected was to feel the sensation of being pushed back in the seat. Or maybe I've just been too chicken to accelerate full speed from a stop on public roads. But the ability to accelerate up long uphill stretches is amazing compared to my other cars that would just maintain speed uphill. Maybe the A8 would have had more of a pushing back in the seat feeling from 1-2?
Did you put your foot to the floor? Some cars have shorter throttle tip in to give the illusion of more power. Put your foot down and I doubt you'll be disappointed
Why else would one come to a corvette forum, and start your posting career by saying you are underwhelmed by the cars performance? And then he says his driving experience is with Ferraris and v10 M5's, lol - so why is he considering a corvette? I'm not saying he lives under a bridge but he probably hangs out under one at least...
WTF?! That's pretty harsh. Nice welcome to the CF community.
Welcome to the forum. Don't worry about the harsh answers... people around here get testy when their Social Security checks don't arrive on time. BTW, I had the same reaction as you when I first drove a base C7 -- I was expecting a bigger kick in the ***, but there are aftermarket upgrades out there to improve throttle response.

I hope you’re blessed with a long enough life to look back on that ignorant comment with some regret.
So, which car did you drive- base, Z51, or GS? Doesn’t really matter as all of them have the same 6.2L LT1, which has been rated at 460 HP (+5 w/NPP) since MY14- GM claims 0-60 @ 3.7 for the A8. The Z06 is rated at 650 HP... GM claims 0-60 @ 2.95 for the A8. If all of them are underwhelming to you, then perhaps the ZR1 is what you are looking for...

You are corrrect a well balanced and suspended car will feel very composed.

You're not being aggressive enough if that’s the case. Be smart, but don’t be scared.
