Disclosure: I work for GM in the OnStar area. But responding as a new Corvette owner. I was quoted over $6K on my insurance bill for my new 2019 ZR1 on a completely clean driver's record. Told the agent that I was an OnStar subscriber, and gave them my estimated annual mileage (2000 miles a year), and the quote dropped to under $3K.

Yep. Made my couresy call from MacMulkin's parking lot. It was a woman from the Philippines. I asked her where she was. Couldn't understand her and couldn' wait to hang up and drive.
Have never had an OnStar operator I haven't been able to understand. Two different times I had tire problems when out of town. One was at about 11:30 PM out in the sticks 20+ miles from the nearest decent size town (13K population). I couldn't get the lug nuts off the car using the short combo lug nut wrench/jack handle. One call to OnStar and they actually woke somebody up who had the right tools to help. Another was at a rest stop in a high traffic area where the spare tire on my Tahoe got stuck half way down and I had a baseball size bulge on one of the front tires and needed to change it before it blew out. One OnStar call and I got a call back from a mobile road service truck. Each of those operators spoke clear non accented American English (Yes, there is more than one version of English).
What is this OnStar person you speak of?
After the initial setup, I have never talked to them, don't want to, and if I do, something has gone massively awry...
I recently purchased a 2014 Stingray Vert. Pressed the BLUE button to get OnStar set up and THEY CANNOT! Some technical issue THEY ARE WORKING ON... Never heard back. Called aagin, they'll be in touch - NEVER HEARD ANYTHING!

Can you break out how much of the reduction came from merely being an OnStar subscriber, and how much from the low mileage, and how much from the actual tracking of your driving style?
We are paying $660/yr for 100/300/25 coverage, (with an umbrella policy to back that up to a couple of mil). 2017 Z51 Coupe 2LT etc.

Not with OnStar but had that problem with an IRS agent once. Not over the phone but in her office! I had gone to an IRS field office for some help setting up a small business and didn't want to attempt that on the phone. The agent assigned to me had a VERY heavy accent and after a couple of minutes of understanding about a tenth of what she was saying I had to stop her and say, "I don't mean to hurt your feelings but I could I please speak to someone else because this subject is difficult for me to understand as it is, but even more so with your accent." She was nice and said okay.

2000 miles a year......... what's the point of owning the car. I drove 2000 miles in 3 months and it's not my daily driver, just a weekend or whenever I get the urge toy.

With National General they do not track driving style, only mileage. The quote went from $6K a year to $3K by signing up for the low mileage discount. BTW, Michigan as a state has very high insurance rates.

I called once by accident in the rain, in the dark, trying to adjust the mirror while driving through construction in Philly, a couple hours after taking delivery. OMG, the OnStar person about BLASTED me out of the car... but, in easily understandable English.
