If looks are the main concern for some, maybe clear Lexan / Polycarbonate handles would be nice

Guys, can I ask a favor? Here's renderings of some quick design ideas. Can I get your feed back? Feel free to add, subtract, combine, or change completely. THANKS!
If you want to Photoshop them, the files are here.

2 or 3 I'm leaning towards 3

Do these door dogs replace the touch pad with a mechanical action to open the door or does it make it easier to activate the touch pad to open the door?

This should help show exactly how they work...They don't replace the touch pad ...

I'd go with number 2 but only if it comes in LB red metallic.

Also...Instead of offering "Gloss Black" as a paint option what about "Carbon Flash Metallic" which is the color of the trim pieces....

Think of it as a mechanical finger that triggers the touch pad and keeps you from having to reach in.

I really like #1 best. I would start a poll.

#3 in Carbon Flash would be my choice. Keep it small, clean and simple.

I just ordered the current / regular version in matte black... finished watching some YouTube videos and it seems like an excellent solution.

I recently got a used C7 and immediately HATED how the door worked. About half the time I have to press the button twice to get the door open This is coming from someone who suffered for the last 7 years with a Nissan 350Z that had a similar vertical slot door handle design. My wife only wears her engagement ring and I have nightmares about what the diamond would do to the passenger side paint while trying to reach the little hidden button. Plus it solves the closing problem as well. I took my mother for a ride and she couldn't figure how to get into the car at all! I realize GM was going with this really sleek look but poking your finger inside a hole in the vehicle to open the door is not what I would call an elegant solution.

Good idea, but put the original as an option. I like it as the stealthiest look.

Of course. The original standard handle will not go away.

Dave, while I prefer the original design, my 2nd choice would be #3, but I predict you're going to end up with a pretty even split preference between 1,2,&3.

Yeah, maybe true. I wish I could afford to make injection molding for all three designs. Maybe in time...

Guys,
I think its come down to this. I can make a new handle chosen from these two. It will be available in only one color: Carbon Flash Metallic. I'll try hard to get it to match the hood vents on the car.
We just need to pick the shape:

(1)

OR

(2)

Help me decide which shape to make.
Thanks.
Dave
