Just saying, but you could probably buy a stripped vette at one of the forum dealers, and have it shipped for less money, and have it sooner...

And.. (if that weren't enough), what your dealer tells you and what may actually happen could be two very different things. They may tell you they can order it, but if they don't have an allocation, you aren't getting the car built...

Have we all forgotten the option of getting a courtesy delivery. Order from a forum dealer and have them help arrange a courtesy delivery to a nearby dealer. Cost is 300-500 dollars which probably will be more than offset by the forum dealer price. Plus you are assured the forum dealer will have allocations and be straight with you.

What my good comrades failed to tell you is that those 6 to 8 weeks will be the longest weeks of your life. The last Vette I ordered was delivered 7 weeks. Seemed like 7 years.

Congratulations, post some pics when you get 'er home.

Mine took literally 56 days = 8 weeks. Seems like the sweet spot is about 7 weeks, give or take. Note that if you order an aero kit, it's probably going to come in separately from the car. For my situation, ordering was the way to go.

I originally made a deal on a Vette that a different dealer had in stock and was going to pick it up tomorrow but the deal fell through.
Location has a lot to do with time to delivery, I think. An in stock car of course is fastest and the big forum dealers have a lot of selection that can get you close to your ideal car--assuming that you are near them or can fly in/drive out. (I am located in Michigan less than 100 miles from two big dealers, so this was the route I chose, less than three days from first call to the dealer to delivery.) If you're having a car shipped from one of these dealers you're adding that time but subtracting order/build time.

Museum delivery eliminates shipping time, but again you need to be able to spend the time/dollars to go to Bowling Green. You order from any dealer and still have the order/build wait times that others have noted here. Your own location and situation again determines whether this is viable.

Courtesy delivery sends an ordered car to a dealer near you who completes delivery for a forum dealer, a slight additional charge.

Ordering from your local dealer will have the same shipping time but with smaller dealers can run into allocation problems. (Essentially, the dealers that sell the most Corvettes and have done so over the years get the most allocations. Lack of allocations can stall orders.)

I think I have covered the permutations.

In any case, good luck and enjoy your C7!
