The change you feel is not throttle response, it's differences in throttle mapping which is the distance once must push the throttle to get from 0 to full open. Moving from Weather through Track modes decreases the distance one must push the throttle to get to full open. The Vitesse does the same thing. Pushing your foot to the floor always results in WOT.

Folks mistakenly perceive they're getting better throttle response with a mode change or by installing a Vitesse, when all they're doing is decreasing the distance the pedal must travel to fully open the throttle.

Agreed. This has been my experience as well. I think some folks are use to other cars they have or previously owned that were tuned to have a lot more tip in. My wife drove a Toyota minivan and I swear all you had to do is just press the throttle about 5% and you were at 75% throttle. You would spin the front tires at every turn from a stop. I wonder if GM tuned the factory throttle response like they did since we are dealing with so much hp and tq? Anyway, I am sure the ported throttle bodies mentioned here are a great mod. They help to smooth out the airflow and increase throttle response and overall power as a result.

That's true with the Vitesse but not so with the ported TB I am helping folk with....that's a REAL airflow mod.....you are moving more air at reduced throttle angles.....FACT....and moving more air in total at 100% full throttle

Alot more.....that's also why you pick up real power and torque with this mod. The ported TB increases peak airflow from 850 CFM stock to 1000 CFM or so ported and the blower responds by compressing that additional air with more fuel and making more power...this is the very essence of everything we do to make more power.

I post this once again for the guys questioning the science behind why a properly ported TB works so well and the difference in actual airflow at various throttle positions. I mde all the fixtures for this test....it was time consuming but worth the hard data

I agree Tony, and I wasn't responding to your posts but to the OP. Changing to a larger capacity throttle body can definitely increase throttle response.

I am a novice at this so my question would be what is the difference between your throttle body and a VMAX ported throttle body?

Yes.....I'm working on that....LOL

So your looking at $390 shipped with a current lead time of only a week or so

While you can call me to process the order the easiest and fastest way to facilitate the purchase is to hit my website (www.mamomotorsports.com)

Top right corner of home page you will see a pic of a credit card.....click on it and fill out all your info and insert the 390.00 figure in the payment amount (that's the shipped price).

After your last name use a space and type either LT1 or LT4 to designate the correct TB based on a normally aspirated Vette or the supercharged Z06 model. You will receive an email receipt of the transaction immediately and I will be notified of the payment at that exact same time.....pretty quick and straightforward. I will also email you tracking info when Im ready to ship and I will send it USPS priority in a well packed box.

Look forward to your feedback as well

Should you have any issues with the purchase just email or call

Regards,
Tony

Its the equivalent of buying different cylinder heads or any other custom ported airflow product.

While they all will physically fit and bolt on the engine (and "read" the same on paper.....ported cylinder heads.....ported intake manifolds.....ported throttle body), you can and will have very different results from the installation with some products working alot better than others.

This is all based on the R&D invested into the product, and the execution of how the product is designed, ported, and manufactured etc. etc.

I have invested a ton of time in the design and R&D of these TB's utilizing the flowbench as well as a handful of local customer vehicles and I am confident that I have ported more of these than most.

At the end of the day you have to go with the vendor that you feel is right for you but the more you investigate my background and my reputation (and naturally customer feedback and results), the more I feel you will lean towards purchasing this product from me.

Also I offer a 30 day money back guarantee and I think that speaks volumes about the confidence I have in my product

-Tony
