Cleared the code and drove the car. Check Engine light did not come on, at least for now. Will drive it again tomorrow to see what happens.

Happened to my C6 Z06 a LOT. Sometimes said "check gas cap," and sometimes it was just the engine light. After half a tank, or another tank of gas, it disappeared. Lot of threads about this on the C6.

It will at least give you an idea of what to do with the car - self repair or time to go to a dealer.
