I was wondering the same thing.... the enthusiast die-hards who paid full MSRP (or more) early on might have a higher percentage of manual purchasers than 2018. I would also assume those early adopters checked more option check boxes than the later years as well, so less 3LT's, less PDR's, less suede, etc, for 2018.

Folks always like to know what the breakdown is with the 7-speed manual transmission vs the new 8-speed automatic. For the 2015 Corvette Stingray, that breakdown was 25.6% manual and 74.4% automatic. For the Z06, the take rate on the 7-speed manual was 51.6% while the new 8-speed auto accounted for 48.4%. The automatics started production a little over a month after the 7-speed manuals so perhaps this will change for 2016. https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2015...on-statistics/

I wanted to avoid having to take mine in for the suspect TC replacement or "fluid flush" or whatever the solution GM is peddling lately. If there hadn't been the negative experiences posted regarding the A8 "warble" I probably would have got an auto, but after having had the M7 now for a year, I'm glad I got the manual.

Used to always do manuals back before auto's became better. Now with the A8 in my corvette thats constantly in the shop, my next auto car will be from another make thats not GM. So if you're set on having a Corvette, relive the old days and stick with a manual. Well whats left of it with the skip shift, hill start assist, rev match and all that stuff. lol

When they stop making sticks, I stop buying corvettes.

Manual for me. Don't have to commute. Way more fun. Shifts when I want it to. Feels like I'm driving instead of the car driving me and making decisions. Really engages the LT1.

Life is what you make it. Pick and choose. But I could imagine if a driver that hasn't experienced a DCT after years of manuals, that driver may be whistling another tune. I know according to the history chronicles that some said "if I can't hand crank my car to start it I'm done with cars".

The only reason I pulled the trigger on my awesome C7, is that it had the very coveted M7 Tremec transmission, replete with Rev Match.
..An automatic transmission would have been an absolute deal breaker.

These discussions are the fault of GM for giving us a choice between transmissions, if they just followed everyone else and just only offered CVTs there will be no point in discussing this.
Auto - For the better numbers.
Manual - For the left foot to do something while driving. Oh yeah, for the fun of it.

Traded for an 18. Got an Grand Sport, 3LT, M7 with the CARBON 65 package, which is exposed Carbon fiber hood, roof, dash, side skirts, spoiler front and rear Comp seats with Carbon fiber seat backs. So its still and M7 car with even more options than the loaded first one. So I guess I hurt your theory. I would not own a C7 with out a manual. Seeing I spend my time inside the car, I like all the bells and whistles.

So just a wild guess, you don't have a manual transmission, you don't row your own gears, you have a non-sports car automatic...
Lol, just did not want you to be disappointed.

Would have opted voted for A8 if it had any kind of acceptable reliability. It would have been my first automatic in about 50 years. However, I had to vote M7 because of that and my '19 is an M7.
