The fourth display that isn't showing on yours is the transmission temperature. Not sure why it isn't there though

- 2017 Z51 M7 has no AFM valves vs previous years
- 2017 Z51 has extra cooling vs previous years
- 2017 Z51 have better front rotors and do not need the rotor cooling rings
- M7 doesn't have A8 issues
- Z51 or Base doesn't have GS bent wheel issues
- 1LT and 2LT has no leather dash separation issues
- Haven't heard of torque tube or screen issue in 2017

Ah. Is the transmission temperature only on Z51 cars? Mine is a base Stingray. I noticed there was no transmission temp sensor when I installed my skip-shift eliminator. Unless that's another model year change for 2019...

Me, too,

Although, I dont know if it would make me trade my A6 for an A8.

The new displays are pretty cool!

Me 3.

These kind of simple/compartmentalized/not hardware dependant software changes should be possible using over-the-air/on-board wifi capability ala Tesla-style.

Get with the program GM.

I'm not sure exactly when that was either, but I do remember the center armrest going through some cosmetic changes during the 2018 model year. One of the changes was adding some stitching on the center armrest lift and an expansion of interior color changes. Meaning if I had an Adrenaline Red / Black combo interior, I believe there was more "red" in the 2LT for 2018 vs 2017. I personally prefer the 2017 as I felt that was a bit too much red for my tastes, but that's just me. I remember Rick Conti mentioning some of these changes for 2018. If I have time, I'll post the clip.

And I know this isn't at the request of the OP, but in 2018 was the exclusive introduction of gloss carbon fiber interior. I don't think it was offered for any other model at the time other than the Carbon 65. That add-on was expanded to all models for 2019 but only for the 3LT trim.

Is it a 2019 too? I don't seem to have any ability to reconfigure the pocket gauges in Track Mode.

Skip to around the 28:00 minute mark on the video below and watch the next 7 1/2 minutes:

You can see the interior changes in the 2LT that I spoke about in this video. As a side note, I completely forgot about the rotation HUD feature they added in 2018. And the PDR got some enhancements too, which was also new to me.

Mine is a 2018, built at the end of production (just after the plant reopened)

1. The "extra cooling" is only on the auto cars with get a secondary front radiator laid flat.

2. They do not have "better" rotors. GM went cheap and went back to a 1-piece cast rotor vs. the 2-part cast rotor with cooling rings. I tracked my car hard all last year on the OEM 2-part rotors sans rings w/o any issues. I have been utterly impressed with the rotors vs. what I was used to in C5 days.

[QUOTE=Tool Hoarder;1598906979]1. The "extra cooling" is only on the auto cars with get a secondary front radiator laid flat.

[/QUOTE} See below, the Z51 and Z06 got the extra cooling by adding the lay down radiator -which wasn't an option for the A8 because it is already being used for transmission cooling.
In addition, for manual transmissions, we have adapted the horizontal, “lay down” cooler used to remove heat from the automatic transmission for additional cooling in the engine coolant circuit. The extra cooler, plumbed in series with the radiator, as shown the diagram below, lowers coolant temperatures about 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Since we use coolant to extract heat from the engine oil in a dedicated heat exchanger, the engine oil temperature is lowered similarly.

Unfortunately, the horizontal cooler is still needed to remove heat from the automatic transmission cars and so can’t be used for this purpose.

You may be right on that. I had forgot the secondary laydown radiator was on GS/Z51s too.

I assumed this was because 2014 uses the A6 and 2015 and newer uses the A8, but this may not be accurate?!?

I called DSS today and spoke with them about their aftermarket upgraded axle shafts, and they confirmed that ALL 2014 & newer C7's (base, z51, z06, auto and manual) use their same part number aftermarket axles.

Hope this helps!

Really.... no afm valves on Z51 manual cars? So that means the manual GS cars would have no AFM valves either.. Right?

Correct. My 2019 M7 GS has no AFM valves. It was an awesome surprise when I put it on the lift and couldn't find them!

From Tadge:
"Do the 2017-2018 cars including the GS already have the enhanced calibrations or will they be a part of a future update?
  1. Model year 2017 MRC vehicles were the same as 2016 with the exception of the Grand Sports which did reflect a partial representation of the revised tuning philosophy.
  2. Also included for 2017 production was a new Track calibration for Z06/Z07 (minus the temperature compensation as discussed below).
  3. As I stated above, all 21 2019 production including Chevrolet performance calibrations were completed in September, 2017. This was approximately 8 months after the 2018 calibrations were released for production.
  4. When we hit our 2018 production release dates, the progress I made thus far was released for 2018 production in Tour and Sport for: Z51, Grand Sport Base, Grand Sport w/Z07, Z06 Base, and Z06/Z07.
  5. So yes, Chevrolet Performance will be offering new calibrations for all 2017 and 2018 MRC equipped vehicles including Grand Sport, expect to see the remaining models released in Q1 2018."
