Crap....me too...early build GS. (August 2016)
I might just try to reseat my torque sensor connector, rather than have Bubba touch my car.....
A new rack is $1200......maybe I will just change it if it acts up....pn 84226078

I have a 2016 and experienced the loss of power steering.assist during a long cross-country trip last summer it happened three times during that trip. So why only 2017 model year?
Crap..... I just looked at the Service Manual. To change the rack, they have to support the engine, and then drop the front cradle...I was hoping the rack could be replaced with the cradle in-place….I think I might live with a potentially intermittent power rack...….

You don't. It's actually pretty easy to remove from the car. Remove the wheels, tie rods, abs bracket, front sway bar and the radiator duct, then unbolt the rack.

Looking back on my original thread about my power steering failure, it appears that all of us having the issue had early build 2017's. There were about 4 of us at the time and since then a few have chimed in; and again, they have early build 2017's

With the cradle in the car, it looks like you need to remove the entire tie rods (at the inner joints), and then there is enough room to lift the rack up and off the cradle? Or do you pull the rack out by sliding it sideways, out thru the wheel well?
