Default How important are the 2LT features?

Hello all,

I have a 2016 Z51 2LT M7 with mag ride and a performance data recorder. I found a Grand Sport that is a really good deal, but it is only a 1lt and an automatic. That would mean I am losing my front camera, heated and memory seats, data recorder and mag ride I assume.

Wondering if there are any other pros or cons I am missing regarding going from the 2LT to the 1LT as well as the M7 to the Automatic.

The plus is the color is one that I love and rare, and it is a year newer with less miles, an automatic, and a Grand Sport, but perhaps I should wait it out to find a 2lt Grand Sport in that color... Any info on the differences or experiences from someone who has had both a 1LT and a 2LT, or the difference of the Z51 up to the Grand Sport would be appreciated.

Kelly

Thanks!

How important they are is solely your decision to make - no one else can make it for you

(personally, I'd never be without what 2LT gives you but that's me)

You'd probably notice the differences more coming from a 2LT car. Us 1LT owners don't know what we're missing so we don't "miss" anything. Also, my 1LT is mag ride equipped.

Interior packages (1LT/2LT) have nothing to do with whether a C7 has Mag ride or not, as it comes on the GS regardless of interior package.

1LT includes:
8” touchscreen, Bose AM-FM 9 speaker stereo, 3 month Sirius/XM,MP3, MyLink, OnStar, 4G LTE, 8” HD driver info screen, leather power GT sports seats, power break set/release, power locks/windows, active handling, dual-zone AC, keyless access/start, power tilt/telescopic, leather wrap steering w/flat bottom wheel, cruise control, tire pressure monitor, driver, passenger and side airbags, carbon fiber hood, Bremo 4-piston disc brakes, rear view camera, coup- body color painted carbon fiber roof panels, convertible- power soft-top which can be lowered remotely.

2LT includes:
Everything found in the 1LT plus: Console and door panels in interior color, Lumbar/wing adjust, Heated/vented seats, Seat emblems, front camera, 10-speaker Bose® premium audio system, Universal Home Remote, Auto-dimming mirrors, Memory Package, Head-Up Display, SiriusXM Satellite Radio with one-year subscription, Enhanced Theft-Deterrent Package, Luggage shade/cargo net

This is one of those conversations that comes up periodically. There are those that buy their vettes strictly for racing and couldn’t care less for the creature comforts that the 2lt package offers or rarely drive their garage queen and then there are those such as myself that enjoy these features and/or daily drive their car and feel the Corvette is the pinnacle of the American sports car and you should not scrimp on the available features when purchasing a car of this magnitude. The List price difference is $4455 which translates to $3786.75 after current dealer discounts. I then divide that by 60 months which is the average that many keep a vette and that comes out to $63.11 / month or about $2.10/ day. So is it worth $2.10 a day to have the front cameras, heated/ ventilated seats, heads up display, subwoofer and other features? I say yes!

Well it isn't about money, I have the money, I can't find the car! I would gladly pay for the 2LT GS, but there literally are none for sale!

Unfortunately I am looking for Black Rose Metallic, it's the only color I like better than my Long Beach Metallic, so ordering is not an option that I am aware of.

Kelly, I went from a. '06 3LT C6, to a '16 1LT C7. Truthfully, I didn't miss a thing and was very happy with the car. I just bought a 2LT Grand Sport, and yes I'm quite glad to have all that stuff back. Strangely I didn't realize that I did miss the HUD until I got it back, but if it wasn't there it wouldn't be a huge deal for me. The Grand Sport comes with the Mag Ride, and the suspension is the same level as the Z51 package. The Black Rose is quite rare, and one would be hard to find in any trim level. Good luck on your decision. I'm sure I didn't help you at all with my ramblings.

BTW, I'm sure you will certainly enjoy a Grand Sport. Amazing car.

Great colour. I liked it so much I traded in my Night Race Blue 2015 and ordered a Black Rose GS..

Only available in 2017 and 2018...

Production of BRM stopped on July27,2017.

219 total for 2018 model year and 1333 for the 17 model year.

How's your back? And your passenger's?

1LT no lumbar... nada zip...

Also no HUD which is insane to me given how much is going on in the car when driven hard. Should be standard as it is on the Z06.

Imo home link lumbar and HUD should be stand alone or included even on base car. Ridiculous

Kelly, when I was looking for my C7 (used), one of the primary things I wanted on the car was the 2LT package. The heated/ventilated seats and HUD were must haves for me.

Only you can determine if you would be happy without the 2LT package goodies. However, since you are asking the question, I would assume that having the 2LT items is really something you like on the car. If so, perhaps the smart thing is to wait for a Black Rose 2LT GS to show up and then jump on it.

The only thing I missed was HomeLink, and I installed that myself in about 20 mins. It was ~$140 online.

I never used the HUD in my C6 as I found it to be distracting.

If & when you go to sell the car, the 2lt is so much easier to sell due the options, most everyone wants the up grades.

Does anyone know if you can do an aftermarket install of the front cameras, I find those quite helpful.

Also it sounds like the Homelink is easy to install ( Thanks for that tip)

I feel like I can live without heated seats, and I rarely use the performance data recorder. Lumbar isn't important to me, I thought memory would be, but my husband almost never drives the car. I feel like the sound system could also be upgraded without too much of a hassle.

The HUD is the only other thing I would miss.

Also thanks to all those who provided insight, this has been very helpful to me.
