I am feeling the same dilema. I would miss the auto dimming mirrors, lumbar support, and homelink. From this thread, I can add homelink. I am still trying to make up my mind. I went from a C6 1lt to a newer C6 2lt. I do like the extras. But on the C7, 1lt gives alot. The only mandatory option is NPP performance exhaust which I think the GS 1lt comes with, same as Z51 Base. Good luck as I am in the hunt also but for a different color.

I thought when I bought my car that I'd miss the HUD. But the graphics on the C7 are large enough that I don't miss it at all. Also 'heated seats and mirrors are useless to me in SW Florida. The rest is "window dressing" and it's nice to have but to me $ 4500.00 is not chump change. The ONLY thing I would love to have are 2 tones seats, but they want $8K for that!! No freaking way! Just saying...I've had my car almost 5 years now and have yet to regret not dishing out , what that one guy say, " $ 2.10 a day."

Only you can make that call. If it were me, no way I’d spend this much on a car without 2LT.

I wanted 2LT because I used HUD in my C5 all the time. So my C7 has 2LT, but I found the ergonomics are so good in the C7, that I frequently use the dashboard instead of HUD. That said, the lumbar support, memory seat and cooled/ventilated seat (North Carolina summers) are options I would sorely miss if I didn't have them. So I would not buy a C7 without 2LT, but that's just my opinion and what I want. YMMV.

Allow me to join the "it's your own personal choice" brigade... That said, FWIW my "must haves" were M7 'cuz I enjoy going thru the gears, and 2LT for the HUD, front camera, Homelink and ventilated seats in a hot central Commiefornia summer. The HUD and front camera are invaluable IMO.

Hmm, distracting??? HUD was developed for fighter pilots so they could keep their eye's ahead. I love the Tach in Hud and the shift lights as I approach redline. Far less distraction as far as I'm concern. It's very useful in the wife's BMW SUV as well. In that case can't beat the pics when approaching a turn in NAV! Would not buy a car without it!

To each their own.
