Default Just a few design problems

Pretty minor, but one problem is the placement of the coupe's rear hatch button. I keep brushing it with my knee when getting in, and then I have to exit the car to shut it.
The only other gripe is having to hold the pump nozzle to keep the gas flowing. It stops for no reason. I think its the shape of the spout that is the issue.

I love the car otherwise.

If they are the only issues you have then consider yourself fortunate.

Turn the gas nozzle upside-down; it works. Looks funny when fueling though!

same thing happened to me .im 6 ft 3 in and about 280 with long legs
  1. for the seat ..before you sit down remember move the seat up about 1 inch..them move it back as far as it can go..

——the trick is the seat will move back a little father without your weight in it

—— drawback is you have to remember to do it each trip

2. For the pump ..turn the handle upside down and use the inside lever of the pump handle to lock in place..this will
allow you to auto pump and should stop the flow interruption.

enjoy your C7!!!!

I'd suspect the hatch switch may be able to be disconnected and as for the fuel filler issue, I've found it happens at some specific pumps and not others. What was worse (imho) was a Missouri station where the pump kept running AFTER it was full! That being on my way home with my new '18 from Kerbecks. Scary, not simply inconvenient. All the best and ENJOY, nevertheless.

Never had a problem fueling my '14 Z51 nor (so far) my '19 GS. The secret is to GO SLOW

(never a problem with the hatch release either but I am not 6'4" )

The fueling issue is not universal. I’ve never had any problems... Perhaps it’s the machanics of certain pump nozzles. I have read others complaining about the hatch button, but you’ll learn to maneuver around it. I bet that it’ll be relocated on the C8, as will the hatch...

I know I can avoid hitting it if I think about it, but if i miss, I have to crawl out of the car I just crawled into. At 6'1" 260 LB, that is quite the adventure (and comedy routine). I guess that'l learn me quick, though.

Do you use the "easy exit" setting in memory package? Set to easy exit and the seat will move all the way back when you open the door (with engine off) and will resume your desired position when you hit the start button. Makes entry & exit a lot easier with long legs.

Fueling issue is gas station pump dependent but turning nozzle upside down always works.

Hatch release is really irritating. I heard that this was addressed in the 2019 MY. Can anyone confirm this?

Do it carefully. I cracked the seal around the fill neck and it threw a code. Code was for an emissions issue. The technician found the barely noticeable crack by running his finger around the fill neck. It was an easy fix.

Not had either of those problems with my car, but you're not the first to report having issues with both of them.

There are multiple threads on the hatch release. I used to hit mine all the time, but all of a sudden stopped doing so. Muscle memory? I don't know. You might find the same.

For the OP. Others report doing the same. However there are several posts and one from a fellow who services pumps. The shut off is NOT ddesigned to positively shut off when left upside down.

He describes how the shut off mechanism works.

There are several post where it didn't shut off but fortunately the poster was near buy so only some gas spilled on his car! He's lucky he didn't go into the store to buy something as those tanks hold thousands of gallons!

It does depend on the pump and nozzle BUT I find even with the same one at a station it trips even when set at low flow over half the time. In 5 years now with my 2014 and now my 2017 I just stand there and turn the nozzle 90 degrees CCW and hold the handle at full flow. It fills quickly and so far has always shut off. BUT if it doesn't I would just release the handle. In the proper position even with the handle depressed if was often tripping.
