Last night I noticed how bad the backup camera on my 2014 3LT is. The image is dark and very difficult to use. Don't know if the newer C7s have a better resolution camera that would swap out or not. Any ideas on replacing the OEM backup camera?
Maybe so. The only thing I have t compare is my wife's 2013 Avalon. The bu camera on that is bright and clear opposed to dark and not easy to distinguish much of anything. Of course I have cleaned the face of the camera and it is not just dirty.

You can buy a new one from GMPartsDirect.com for less than $100.
23199271 Rear Camera $96.96
Do the labor yourself.
One tricky part...to unclip connector at bumper, you need to lift up on black tab inside the rise opposite the red slide lock (after pulling the red slide lock back).

I have a 19, the back up camera is very useful, however the image quality is not great, especially at night
The image can get washed out if there is any other lighting around and the image is usually dark in either case.
I grown to live with it since it is still better than nothing.
I would save my money on buying another from GM, perhaps you can retrofit an aftermarket camera with better clarity

unless your is obviously broken buying a new one from GM will result in the same quality. Because to me the factory GM camera appears to be sub-par. I have an aftermarket one in another vehicle and the one in our '14 Infiniti Q60 are both better.
My 2016 the quality is pretty bad. I also have a 2016 Cruze beat around car and it's far better quality along with the rest of the screen resolution.
I'm pretty sure its not the camera that is causing the bad picture but the display itself that is kind of lackluster. Doesn't really bother me any tho.
Thanks for the input. In daylight the camera is okay for me. At night it is terrible. Probably not an aftermarket replacement that will fit and work, especially since beginning in 2017 the view widened quite a bit and the software is not the same.
I will just give up and accept the rear view camera sucks at night.

Best bet is to find another C7 of the same year and do a comparison. You don't even need to drive the other car, just sit in it. At night, too.
I think GM upgraded the C7 rear camera -- 2017 or 2018 perhaps?
Was always thinking I'd try to retrofit it, but never got around to it.

From many, many press releases detailing 2018 Corvette changes (including GMAuthority and CorvetteActionCenter, just to name a few): "Improved rear-view camera image features higher resolution and wider angle"
Google "2018 Corvette changes" to read them for yourself.
Not saying the 2018+ cams are better than any of the other brands mentioned, but there clearly was an 'upgraded' rear cam unit included in the 2018+ Corvettes that was supposedly better than the 2014-2017 models. Which is, exactly, what the OP of the thread asked.
